“Mars is making a conjunction to your Moon, while Saturn squares off with your Mercury.” At that point my client stopped me dead in my tracks. “Mac, I don’t want to know how the clock works, just tell me what time it is.” Most of us don’t have a clue what a Mars conjunction to the Moon means and many more of us could care less. So I’ll throw in the odd eclipse and some planetary configurations but mainly I want to talk about what is happening for the powerful and elite in our society along with the fate of Nations.
We know that just before the delivery of a new born babe it is a most distressful and nervous time. It is kind of like that now in Canada and America. We have the pre-birth jitters. Will he/she be healthy, and will all their little toes and fingers be intact. Every parent on the Earth has gone through these thoughts. Now we are going through a birthing process and we are unsure of the outcome. Pluto is the planetary deity that will make his presence known over the next several years. Without getting into the nitty-gritty details, just know that Pluto will make several very important contacts to the planets in the U.S.A.’s and Canada’s birth charts from 2009 to 2016. Many of us are already psychologically braced for the arrival of 2012 as the Earth lines up perfectly with the galactic centre on December 21, of that year. I’m not sure what it really means and everyone is intrigued because the Mayan calendar ends on this date. I think that it may herald the end days of a way of life that we used to know and believe in. This avenue of thinking certainly is very much in alignment with Pluto’s vibes. Pluto has a strong association with the sign Scorpio which is the sign most related to death and rebirth.
If there ever was one human being that we could consider Plutonian in our present day, it would have to be U.S. President Barack Obama. He is loved, admired and has made strong men weep with his heart rending and miraculous ascension to the high throne of leader of the free world. Possibly he is hated by some, resented by others, but for sure he has raised our hopes and heightened our sense of humanitarian caring as his approach is one in which his hand is extended and open to all. Presently Pluto is making an opposition with Venus in the U.S. chart and in Obama’s chart which tells us that a great catharsis is taking place in which there will be a time of re-evaluating everything and realigning our priorities to match the reality of the times. This is just the beginning as Canada’s chart is also just starting to receive Pluto’s strong message of transformation. Pluto will transit opposite to Canada’s Moon, Uranus and Sun from 2010 to 2014 bringing a time in which the very fabric of the nation will undergo a great transformation.
Obviously our problems are not going away anytime soon, and as the economy tightens and pressures rise we may witness a rise in crime and we know the rest of the tale. Corruption, pollution, collusion and other misuses of power will be discovered, uncovered, dismantled and reformed. This is the work in store on the collective level as we continue to deal with homelessness, drug abuse and poverty. Now we get to see its nasty underbelly so that we can correct, cleanse and heal ourselves and all those that are suffering.
The journey has just begun and now it is time to take up your sword and cut the ropes that hold us down. Nothing less than a re-alignment of wealth and power across the world will take place as we struggle onward and hopefully upwards in a somewhat turbulent and shaky birth into the future. The light that is coming is bright as we shape the future for those yet to step foot on Earth. Unification, co-operation, cohesion and sharing is the way to go. Collusion, corruption, greed and distortion along the other negatives spell death, plain and simple. We’re not dying, we’re birthing, and what is not useful or worthy will die off.
Use the next several years by embarking on your journey of rebirthing as you lend a hand and give where it is needed and pay it forward once again. I just recalled a time that I spent on Venice Beach some years ago that seems to fit the picture of what I’m trying to say. There was an old man playing his guitar as he sang some truly heart breaking blues. A street lady who was in very poor condition laid in her sleeping bag close to the blues singer. It squeezed my heart hard as the silent and attentive crowd gathered to witness this very soulful scene. With no words spoken someone walked up and gave the lady a cigarette and a few minutes later someone brought her a coffee. This scene was repeated each day that I went there and I realized that these folks were having hard times but they were looking out for each other and now that is what we have to do. We need to bond and work together as a family, which we truly are.
Obama in depth next week.

You got game. Action and attraction, excitement, enthusiasm and possibly some danger are all thrown into the mix. The competition heats up and you may be at your best, ahead of the rest. Don’t forget to take some rest when you can, but presently you should be full tilt boogie into whatever favors your fancy. Admire your handiwork later as you keep busy with what’s in front of you now.
The Sun continues his journey through the middle degrees of Taurus as he forms a triangle with Saturn on May 5. Although there are other forces and pressures affecting our lives, you have an opportunity to create something good and solid. Taurus works in a circular motion and does best with a steady rhythm and now you can work out any knotty problems. I didn’t say your problems would go away, but there are opportunities to improve conditions.
Mercury, Lord of Gemini comes screeching to a halt on May 6 as he commences his three week retrograde motion. He is stopped in the first degree of Gemini which tells us that all areas of communication, transportation, business and commerce will somehow be effected. We know that retrograde Mercury times are best for working through sudden problems that arise in society. Most of us groan about the delays and hassles that come up in traffic or at the airport while Mercury is retrograde. It is just part of the drill of getting things right and now it is time for you to work along these lines of getting everything on track.
Those of you that are born between June 21 and July 1, any year, most likely will feel or experience the effects of the Moon, Venus, Pluto T square that takes place on May 5. Certain choices and challenges lay up ahead or they are already here. People’s true colours are shown as are yours. It may be a relief to put some things behind you. There may be some hard choices to make regarding finances and matters of the heart and it is time get things right. Although sounding a tad ominous it may not be like that at all, but changes are in the wind.
Jupiter, friend to the Sun casts his glances your way from across the sky. He sits in Aquarius with Neptune and the combination can get you into some pretty interesting inner journeys. A new reality dawns, or at least a different view of who and what you are. Your solar career sector is hot as the Sun traverses through that region of the sky throughout most of May. It may be hard to keep your mind on business which Saturn’s position presently is asking you to do. Your solar money house is Virgo and Saturn is in for a visit. One part of you wants to weigh anchor and set sail while another part says we can’t afford it and we have to work the salt mines for a bit longer.
Plan something special for May 3 as the Moon visits Virgo and harmonizes with the Sun. Relax and enjoy the time. Monday’s energy on May 4 will carry a different tone and quality and you may be glad when the day finally ends, although you may get a lot accomplished. The Sun and Saturn harmonize on May 5 bringing a time in which things fall into place and you are rewarded for your efforts. Possibly some sort of sweet justice takes place and you can hold your head up with pride. Mercury goes retrograde on May 6 in your solar tenth house relating to work, business and commerce. Plus, you have ownership with Mercury as he is your ruling planet. Delays and problems pop up in the workplace or related worries may be the case. Travel plans may change or somehow not go as expected in the next few weeks.
May 5 and 6 are your days. The Moon traverses through Libra and opposes Venus and Mars, promising sparks and excitement, positive or negative. It may be time to make important decisions regarding relationship concerns or financial problems. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar house of travels and it may cause some type of delay or change of plans over the next few weeks. The Moon forms a triangle with lucky Jupiter late on May 6 bringing positive conclusions and happy times your way.
Oftentimes when the Sun moves through our opposite sign we may find ourselves a bit rundown and needing a break. Scorpio’s instinct is to push through and ignore the pain which can lead to further complications. The Sun is moving through your opposite sign Taurus until May 20 and if you need a break then you should take it. Mars is visiting your solar sixth house bringing the instincts to heal and organize everything. So basically it is a time of rest and recreation, healing, planning and self nurturing. The full Moon on May 8 will help to illuminate the pathway ahead.
Romance and finance feature in the days ahead. It is time to connect with the things and people that bring you the most joy and pleasure. It is also time to explore the world a bit and possibly stretch your intellect. You should accumulate a raft of great experiences that you can weave into some excellent tales that you can regale us with in the future. Changes regarding work and home will need your attention and there still may be considerable tension in those areas of your life. The key to your success is within your ability to ride out the changes that are occurring these days.
Two distinct planetary patterns stand out at this time. The Sun and Saturn form a triangle on May 5 and they both cast fine energy into your sign bringing good results, especially when dealing with authorities and higher-ups. The influence of this steadying aspect will carry on for several days. Life tends to run smoothly while this planetary aspect lasts. The Moon, Venus and Pluto square off on May 5 as well, and this particular configuration can bring up some fairly uncomfortable scenarios as jealousy, envy, greed and other human weaknesses manifest. Possibly you will experience a little bit from both of these configurations. On one level there can be very gratifying and sustaining good developments and on the other hand possibly there will be a falling out and a parting of the ways.
Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct in your sign and it heralds a very special time for some of the Aquarians that have planets in the late degrees of Aquarius. If you are born from February 10 to 19 any year, you have a good chance to reap the benefits of this planetary conjunction. Jupiter is the planet of good luck and good timing. The urge to gamble and speculate is strong when Jupiter is around. With Neptune in the picture things could get fuzzy as the details just don’t seem to be too important. Spiritual experiences of the highest order may manifest or the worst swindle could be the case so it would be wise to go slow until you know. This influence is at its greatest strength over the next four months. Choose the high road and stay on it.
In a couple of years from now Neptune will enter his own sign Pisces for a 15 year visit. If I were a Pisces I would make note of this and strive to encompass and imbibe the energy that will be available at that time. All of the changes that you have been going through over the last few years are just a prelude and build up as to what is to come. You will be totally in your element and will be able to operate easily and smoothly while others may not have the proper wiring to cope and deal with the realities that are heading our way. I expect at least a total change in consciousness and awareness to take place as we become a more compassionate and spiritual people and most likely you will be leading the way as you minister to all those that need love and affection, compassion and understanding. Your work presently is to perfect your skills be they as healer, minister, magician or beautician. Artists and all creative types will get a huge boost.

“A wise man rules his stars, and a fool follows them” is a well worn adage among astrologers. Just how does one rule their stars, you might ask? Well now that you have asked, I can answer with my humble opinion. We don’t get to rule our stars, at least in the normal sense of how we think we would rule them. As an example, let’s say that you have the Moon sitting very close to Mars in Aries at your birth. Your local astrologer will most likely query you regarding your hot reactive temper and the trouble it has gotten you into at different times in your life. Professional astrologers know that the Moon in fiery Aries will make a person emotionally reactive and if Mars the lord of Aries is involved as well then we know that there are going to be periodic minor and major eruptions, conflagrations, clashes, battles, and tears if this powder keg is allowed to go off.
Of course we would like to keep a tight rein on this type of explosive energy and the remedy in dealing with it is to cultivate patience, humility and probably more patience. But the real trick is utilizing this powerful dynamic in your birth chart. One could seek out a career in the military or special ops, search and rescue, the ambulance service, firefighting, race car driving, lion taming, pub clearing or the myriad of occupations that thrive on high adrenalin scenarios. One way or the other this aspect of your chart will show its face and it is best if you are in the driver’s seat.
The gist of it all is to know your strengths and weaknesses and harness them in a useful and productive way. This is one way of ruling your stars. Here is another. Keep in mind that the horoscope reflects “mirror like” back to us exactly our karmic state of affairs. The birth horoscope is a road map reflecting past life karmic effects being worked out in this lifetime, all the while spinning our web of destiny for the future according to our behavior and development in our present life.
According to the mystics we are creating karma in one form or another every second of our lives. Chains of iron and chains of gold are forged according to our positive and negative actions, deeds and thoughts. The only true way of ever controlling the stars is when we surrender to the higher powers of love and light. As long as we think we are the doer and that our egos are involved in our actions then we continue to heap more on the pile of karmic indebtedness. When we act within the will of the Creator, God, Guru etc. we become neh-karma. Neh-karma is like when the commander orders the solder to shoot, the karma lays with the leader not the solder. In essence the more that we surrender, forgive and strive to live non-violently in thought, word and deed, then we will gain some headway and come into a time in which the stars don’t hold the sway and grip that we presently experience. Those that abuse themselves or others and generally flout God’s will are most controlled by the starry influences and are often seemingly victims of the stars, and those that live clean and positive lives are released from their bondage.
In coming columns I’ll be shifting gears a bit as there is more of a need to know what is truly unfolding in these very complex days. It doesn’t seem to matter how we dress up astrology it seems that the public just wants to know what we have to predict. In future columns I’m going to tread down that road of predictions for famous people along with what I see for the future regarding the fate of the nations and their leaders.

Venus and Mars have just entered Aries and the sparks are already flying. Gird your loins and prepare to do battle as life is destined to heat up right through to the end of May. It is time to prove to yourself that you are capable, competent, worthy and desirable. You are a diamond in the rough and a bit of spit and polish will work wonders. Competition, action and attraction are close at hand. Meet the day head on, stay original and be pro-active. The world will respond.
The Taurus new Moon takes place on April 24, just as your ruling planet Venus and fiery Mars meet up in Aries. Fresh starts in new directions are indicated. But first the past has to be dealt with, wrapped up and put away, or it may be someone from the past that becomes very important in your life again. Now is the time to do the behind the scenes type of work that may be needed in order to handle the high energy that is coming your way and will be in full effect throughout the month of June.
Plan something special for Sunday April 26 as the Moon moves through Gemini and makes a couple of fine connections to Venus and Mars bringing lively times into play. It is also a good time to hook up with likeminded people that share some of your interests and passions. April 27 is a busy day in which certain pressures are felt, especially in the work place and you may be glad when the day ends. Hold off on major decisions as Mercury will enter Gemini at the end of the month and then will promptly turn retrograde in early May causing a reversal of decisions and other snafus that will need to be ironed out. Take your time until you figure out where the problem may be.
It’s time to open up and expand your horizons. The new Moon on April 24 activates your solar house of friendships, hopes, wishes and desires. Seek those that are looking in the same direction as yourself and love will surely follow. Work life will really heat up now as well and you may be in demand. The stakes go up as does the strength of the competition and you will have to be strong to stave off the mesmerizing qualities of the power players. You must hold your ground and not mess around.
I must confess that I have always had a great admiration for Leo people There is not a better nor more loyal friend to have than dear old Leo. When the light is on and that radiance from the Sun is beaming out of you the world falls prey to your charms. Spirituality, travel, romance, finance, fame and more are within reach. Take it to the highest level now and don’t look back, but certainly gear up for many years of high adventure. Plan something special for April 30 and May 1 as good energy is onboard as the Moon passes through Leo.
I must confess that I have always had a great admiration for Virgo people. Man, when you get it right, you really get it right and the world works like a finely tuned watch. You have a basic humility that cannot be feigned nor faked. It comes from the essence of your soul and is evident in your daily life. When Virgo gets it wrong, they get it really wrong and all kinds of concerns ensue. Now is the time to come to terms with the rights and wrongs in order to purge, cleanse and purify. The Taurus new Moon on April 24 takes place in your solar ninth house bringing a sense of connectedness to the big picture. Your love for divinity and higher forms of love may increase. Travel, education and publications feature now.
Venus, ruler of Libra has entered your opposite sign Aries and Mars, lord of Aries is right there with her. They start a dance, a courtship of sorts, no less than that of Romeo and Juliette or Cleopatra and her Marc Antony. Venus and Mars stay within close proximity to each other until early July. First they travel through Aries throughout May, and then through Taurus over the month of June. Excitement, romance, competition and challenges are coming your way. Jupiter and Neptune cast fine rays into your sign bringing light, love and spiritual yearnings. A special child (or relationship, or idea) is born, one that carries great light and vision.
Scorpio rises at the time of the Taurus new Moon on April 24, bringing you strongly into the cosmic play that is set to unfold throughout the spring season. With the new Moon taking place in your solar seventh house of partnerships it may very well be a time in which relationships come together or break apart. Your ruling planet Mars and Venus have hooked up and this just adds more fuel to the fire. Your interest in personal development increase as does your awareness of optimum health. Said another way, it is time to deal with old issues and clear them up and get your life on track. Be ready for a hot month of June which promises to be an exciting time in which love and excitement and various opportunities make themselves visible to you.
Sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn’t. You are entering a time in which my bet is that it will work, especially if you put in some effort. Just like the spring flowers, opportunities are popping up all over the place. Romantic attractions are highlighted as are all kinds of unique developments such as pregnancies. New realities are dawning and you may be restless to seek out the higher planes of existence. It’s a good thing and you may find yourself opening up in ways unimaginable in the past. It is still a bit of a bumpy ride and you feel jostled a bit. Ride it out and stay in the saddle.
You may have discovered that you have developed a thirst that you cannot quench along with an itch that you cannot scratch. It is your yearning for internal love and peace. Yes, you could have the power and the glory, and the wealth, but you cannot buy your way into heaven nor take your treasures with you, nor will they bring you peace of mind. It is time to gather what you truly want as now the universe is in the mood to give. Make your yearnings and wishes worthy and of the highest order. Home, family and times with friends and celebrations are onboard now.
Jupiter and Neptune have met up in late Aquarius and will be close to each other in varying degrees until January 2010. Jupiter represents our willingness to be involved socially and how we care for society. Jupiter also represents prophesy, wisdom and kingship. Neptune connects us to the astral and psychic realms of consciousness and brings a sense of compassionate love to the table. The combination of these two giants in the sign of Aquarius will bring miracles of all sorts to be witnessed. It is time to follow your star, meet your destiny and teach us how to love one another.
Read Aquarius as it relates and resonates with your sign. The Jupiter – Neptune conjunction involves you as both are co-rulers of Pisces. It is your time to seek your destiny and move towards those things that you have always wanted to do. Just know that 2010 is your year, big time, and you should be making yourself ready, body, mind and soul. Just stay in the light, stay with the truth and see what the universe offers up. Think big and then make it happen. Your life is destined to change in the most remarkable ways and 2010 is just the beginning of the journey. Let it all go, the past I mean, and anticipate the future with excitement.

The word “astrology” basically breaks down into star – logic. In ancient times the astrologers looked up to the heavens in order to make their calculations and prognostications. In modern times we have the planetary positions recorded in a book called an ephemeris. With modern day technology we are capable of plotting the planetary positions for thousands of years ahead or into the past. I’m sure most book lovers have a favorite book that stands out in their lives. Well, for me it is my ephemeris. It is such a strange book to the untrained eye, for it is a book of numbers, glyphs and symbols and not much more. But the stories offered up from the past and future planetary positions are endless and only limited by our own imaginations. In essence, an astrologer’s credibility hinges on his or her ability to interpret what the planets are saying at any given time.
As an example, let’s say that you look into your ephemeris and notice that Venus is approaching Mars and they will form a conjunction in late Pisces and soon after both will enter Aries. Professional astrologers know that Venus is exalted in Pisces and Mars is ruler of Aries and when these two meet up we can expect fireworks and all kinds of wonderful magical and romantic scenarios to play out. Well, my ephemeris tells me that this Venus – Mars conjunction will be occurring this spring. Venus represents our values, ethics and morality. Mars represents courage, valour and bravery, while Aries is the sign of new starts and fresh beginnings. Money and other resources are Venus ruled. She will hook up with fiery and powerful Mars in his own sign Aries providing excitement, energy and action throughout the spring season. I cannot imagine that we will be sitting around licking our wounds and worrying about the past. It is more likely that we will be meeting the days with enthusiasm and good energy which of course is contagious. This may very well be the kick start or boost that we need in order to stimulate the world economy. This is just one example of two planets doing their thing and when you look at all of the planets and what they are doing and how they are relating, it is nearly overwhelming at times. The ephemeris provides the raw material and a worthy astrologer takes on the task of interpreting what the stars are saying.
Mars transits can bring danger as well. A client of mine was shocked when I told her that her chart showed a danger regarding fire a while back because of a Mars transit over a sensitive point in her horoscope. Months later she showed me the pictures of the fire that had occurred on the day that she purchased a brand new vehicle and the faulty ignition system caught fire and nearly burned their home down.
There have been many nights when I’ve gotten lost in my ephemeris and hours have slipped by unnoticed. Well, Venus is approaching Mars and they will meet up in late Pisces on April 21, then move through Aries and they will conjunct again in Taurus on June 21 within hours of the summer solstice. What we have here folks, is the fact that Venus and Mars stay within close proximity of each other right through the spring. Life takes on quite a shine and we will no doubt be out and about soaking up all that life has to offer. We’re shaking off the winter doldrums and a certain excitement fills the air as we pursue our dreams, our loves and our passions. Life is upon us in full swing and now is the time to get the most from it. Smile, hug someone, help another and give thanks.
The conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune is another clarion call from the heavens that more light and love are coming our way. The conjunction lasts throughout 2009 and in January 2010 Jupiter enters Pisces for a year long stay. Jupiter is the traditional ruler of Pisces and the combination is going to continue to open up our hearts and lift our consciousness. It is truly an exciting time. Many tremendous and exciting planetary energies are close at hand and we can jump onboard and bring ourselves to a much higher standard in which humanitarian love and affection is given to one and all on the planet.
This is just the beginning because as soon as we catch our breath Jupiter and Uranus will join up in the first degree of fiery Aries in June 2010. If we have not learned our lessons and we still do not know how to get along then we will witness a time in which man’s inhumanity to man will be revealed. We will have to come together and find ways to make it all better. Something big is destined to happen in this next couple of years and I would not be surprised if we witness more than a few miracles.
I know it all sounds a bit dramatic, but truth be known, I’m trying to keep it down. But I am very excited about the future. We must make ready now, by being on our best behavior and missing no chance to help our neighbor. I cannot express it strongly enough; make ready for life to change in very dramatic and dynamic ways. “Purify or perish” should be the mantra of the times. It is time to get past our old lifestyles based on earthly concerns – money, position, prestige, and move on to the higher values and ways in which our souls are nurtured and love becomes the predominant force in our lives.

You might want to read the introduction as it has much to do with your sign. You are the prototype for the future. Rather than worry and be concerned about what part you will play in the future, just be who you are and stay original. Your dharma, which is your life’s purpose will be known soon enough. Follow your heart and stay in the truth and you will not only find the way, but will lead the way.
Read the introduction as it is about Venus and she is the ruler of Taurus. A truly exciting time has arrived and it will only get better as Venus and Mars do their cosmic dance throughout the spring. Refresh and renew all areas of your life. Put the past away and concentrate on enjoying the ever loving present. You won’t have to nudge the world to come your way, as it will be at your doorstep soon enough. The Sun enters Taurus on April 19 bringing you into your solar high of the year and good times are predicted.
A mixture of blessings and difficulties continue to arrive and dissipate like fleeting clouds on a windy day. Blessings come in the form of opportunities for travel and spiritual enlightenment. The difficulties are within the concerns of sustaining a steady income in shaky economic times. Educational opportunities may manifest along with a few lucky breaks. Staying open and amenable to change is best. Certainly put lots of irons in the fire. If one gets hot, you will be on your way.
One of my favourite sayings from my beloved guru was, “Let the wild flower grow in the dark, and when it is ready, it can show its beauty to the world.” While the other signs of the zodiac toil away at the tasks before them, you may be able to move ahead without too much struggle and strain. You can manage and get by easily. But, that would be a waste of your talent and energy. Polish and perfect your skills, as what you create now will certainly have a strong impact in the near and long term future. April 16 and 17 are days when the light goes on and you see your way ahead.
I wonder if the more sensitive types of Leos out there are sensing the future with excitement and anticipation. If you have been feeling that big changes are in the wind, you are right. Jupiter and Neptune continue to cast their energy into your sign bringing a yearning for the exotic, esoteric, magical and spiritual aspects of life. It is time to manifest those dreams of living in far off unique places doing wonderful humanitarian work. Make it happen, or better still, know that the universe is in a cooperative mood to grant wishes. Love and excitement are close at hand.
Mercury and Saturn form a triangle on April 17 bringing the possibility of good news. You may feel more together than usual, and life’s rhythms carry on like a fine tuned Swiss watch. It is your time to refine and organize your life according to your true inner intentions. Although the last year has not been without its losses and sad events it also has been and is a time of strong internal growth. April 20 and 21 are unusual days and love, action and attraction may capture your attention. Stay grounded and take your time and continue to work unabated towards your goals.
The events that take place on April 17 may test your patience and try your humility. It is important to clear up and clean up old business, for soon there will be all kinds of unique opportunities for you to enjoy. Your stock goes up and you are in demand and life truly is what you make of it. A spiritual child is born or possibly you give birth to an idea that has great value. Love and romance and all that they entail are coming your way. Aside from romance you may be in a very creative frame of mind and others will pick up on your style and charm.
The Sun enters your opposite sign Taurus on April 19 heralding your solar low time of the year. You may feel a bit run down or just plain old tired. Rather than push through and tough it out in true Scorpio style it may be wise to take the time to nurture yourself a bit in the late days of April and early May. Creative energy is strong and romantic attractions may flourish throughout the spring and summer seasons.
Tricky problems that have persisted in the past finally get some resolution in late April and May. Now is the time to plan and organize all aspects of your life. While you’re planning and organizing, life goes well and all kinds of cherries become ripe for the picking. Writing, publishing and a series of short journeys come into play throughout the springtime. Career and health concerns take up the days.
Mercury and Saturn create a triangular pattern on April 19 bringing good news and breakthroughs. The Moon moves through Capricorn from April 15 to 18 and is another indicator of high energy. It is your time to truly make something of yourself on a deep and profound level. The Sun enters friendly Taurus on April 19 and casts fine energy into your sign over the next thirty days. A lively spring is predicted and you will receive a fair return for your efforts.
The Moon moves through Aquarius from April 17 to 19 placing you in your lunar high just in time for the weekend. It may prove to be a special time indeed, especially on April 19. Make sure you do something special at this time as the stars are right for all kinds of wonderful, weird and magical things to occur. You are presently going through a great metamorphosis in which your total spiritual outlook gets an overhaul. Keep yourself open and amenable to change.
April 21 is a special day in the sense that the Moon is moving through Pisces, while Venus and Mars make a conjunction in the last degree of your sign enhancing romantic and creative energies to the max. April 22 carries similar energies and you should make it a point to do something special or auspicious at this time. The Sun’s thirty day passage through Taurus runs in harmony with Pisces helping to take the edge off a bit while bringing good times and good people into your life.

Well I’ve been sitting here for two hours and nothing’s coming, so I’m just going to wing it, and tell you about the days ahead in this week’s column. We start the week with a full Moon on April 9 along with a series of harmonious planetary aspects. The Sun becomes exalted in the nineteenth degree of Aries which happens to be the degree of the full Moon. Spring is truly here and we can see the evidence of what the Sun brings to us throughout all of nature. An Aries Libra lunation is very dynamic. It is a lively time that is met with full enthusiasm. Somewhere, somehow we must find the balance between independent action and cooperative co-existence. Aries’ key words are “I am” while Libra’s key words are “I balance.” The full Moon will assist us in finding the balance in accordance with our own birth charts.
Good Friday on April 10 may indeed be a very good day as the Sun and Jupiter harmonize as do Mercury and Pluto. It means that there will be agreements struck, alliances formed and other good news that helps lift our spirits. Retrograde Venus backs into Pisces which is her sign of exaltation, bringing more love and more compassion into our lives. Yes, we all need more love and we can never get enough love. Oddly, it is the only commodity that increases when we give it. All other forms of giving lead to depletion. Pisces is a sign of mysticism and spirituality and now the co-rulers of Pisces, namely Jupiter and Neptune are heading for a conjunction in the late degrees of Aquarius which I believe will bring a flood of compassion and spiritual awakening to many souls. The whole drama is in the hands of the Lord and we dance to the tune of our own making and now a window of opportunity to truly receive enlightenment is at hand. We may witness the genesis of all sorts of new social and spiritual groups popping up. A back to the land movement could be strongly in the picture. We kind of get the picture as a dawning new reality sets in that there is no road back but only the ever living present and the future to anticipate.
Keep in mind that love and happiness does not come from outside, but only from within ourselves. We are faced with the task of how to care for and nurture Mother Earth as we learn to care for her inhabitants. Just as a loving mother cannot resist the cry of her child, God’s love will descend as he hears our cries.
Easter Sunday is about Jesus’ resurrection and it is also a time for us to consider our own resurrection into a spiritual life. Jaded and satiated in varying degrees we need some purification, simplification, love and devotion. Awake, arise and meet the day with all that you can.
By Monday the Moon squares Saturn changing the tone and snapping us back into the reality of having to feed the kids and take care of business. April 14 and 15 are mixed days chock full of surprises, shocks and other sorts of unusual phenomena. Concerns regarding natural or manmade disasters come into play. An exciting time has arrived in which many wonderful, magical and mystical experiences will open us up and hopefully open up our hearts a bit. It is time to set the cornerstone. Not the one for a building or structure but the cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle that brings purity, peace, light and love into our beings and radiates outwards to all those around.
We seek God’s love. We want his attention.. My Guru taught us that God is love and love is God and the way back to God is through love. Nothing else will do.

The Aries – Libra full Moon on April 9 will illuminate many facets of your life. Breakthroughs and epiphanies inspire you onward. April and May heat up significantly. You will be busy and active with much to do. Life shines brighter than it has for a while. You are the first born and must lead the way. It is time to find your holy grail.
Mercury visits Taurus from April 9 to 30 bringing an increase in all kinds of activities. It is a very good time for research and discovery. Topics of interest are tackled earnestly. Designing and planning along with learning all that you can fills the days. Stay on the case with a positive attitude and make good use of the promising springtime energy.
In true Gemini style two distinct planetary patterns are having some sway in your life. On the one hand the Sun, Jupiter and Neptune are casting fine energy into your sign, especially at full Moon time on April 9, bringing breakthroughs and lucky breaks. Travel and educational opportunities materialize. On the other hand you may experience April 14 and 15 with a bit of irony, as things work out differently than expected.
Your social status gets a boost as all kinds of unique alliances take shape. A lively and productive time is indicated and it would be wise to be proactive. The full Moon on April 9 may bring work offers or career opportunities. Someone from afar pays a visit, possibly an old love, or maybe you will go on a journey.
If you have been longing for that special partner that fills the bill on every level, it could happen soon. Other forms of relationships, (non sexual) may blossom, especially with spiritually minded people. Travel features strongly now and again the likelihood of romantic or spiritual connections is increased. You may be restless and seeking a boost to the next level.
Life could go a little haywire from April 13 to 15 and you may have to scramble in order to keep it all together. Without making it sound too dramatic it just may be wise to keep in mind that others may be short tempered and short sighted, and you could get roped into reacting in a similar manner. Avoid confrontation and danger on these days. Then again, if you are the daredevil type, fill your boots.
The full Moon on April 9 occurs in your sign. Just as the full Moon illuminates the night sky, your inner sky becomes illuminated. Problems and concerns that have been on your mind come to a resolution. A purging of sorts takes place. Blessings in many forms are coming your way. If you long for a deeper more spiritual love and life, then now definitely is the time to seek it. You have taken flight and must learn to ride the currents in order to attain the heights that you desire. Life deepens in every way from here on in.
Mars and Pluto are the co-ruling planets for Scorpio. Mars is called the cutter and is associated with all forms of sharp cutting instruments. Surgeons, sculptors, carvers and welders are often Scorpios. Now is the time to learn your craft and perfect your skills. The planets are swaying in your favour and all efforts will be rewarded in the future.
Fortunately Sagittarius is amenable to change and often finds changes refreshing. Now is one of those times as changes are in the wind. A move could be in store for some, while others find changes occurring in their family structure or somehow the past comes into play. The full moon on April 9 will help illuminate what it is all about. Career and home life feature at this time. A pinnacle has been reached and accolades come your way. Otherwise a career change could take place or a fall from a high place could be the case.
Home and career sectors are activated by the full Moon on April 9 bringing strong activity in those areas. I nearly fall silent when I attempt to sum up Capricorn’s plight these days. Not from a negative or fearful point at all, but from the point of the heights, power and wealth that are available and attainable. You may walk the path of Siddhartha from wealth to renunciation to wealth, fame and power and seduction back to renunciation all in the next 10 years.
Jupiter and Neptune conjoin in your sign and will be in close proximity over the next four months. You may embark on a journey of discovery and it could be one of internal, spiritual discovery. Possibly flights of fantasy or other forms of escapism may manifest. Know that it is a divine opportunity to truly acquire what you desire, especially in matters of the spiritual heart. The full moon on April 9 along with the planarity positions are in harmony and it just makes life a bit easier with an easy flow.
Mars and Uranus meet up in Pisces on April 15 and it is something you should make note of and pay heed to. Possibly nothing major will take place on that day, with it and the days either side of it going by easily. But with these two rabble-rouser planets meeting up I certainly would err to the side of caution and would be more attentive before making any important moves. Venus reenters Pisces for a 10 day visit starting April 11 and she brings her love and wisdom to the table. Go with the flow and see what the universe offers up.

The first quarter square of the Moon takes place on April 2. The square aspect is formed when two planets are ninety degrees apart on the zodiac. Square aspects often provoke feelings of dread or some type of upset as tensions run high and challenges just seem to materialize throughout the day. In older astrology books the square is described as evil.
Another approach to getting your head wrapped around the square aspect is to compare it to an intersection. Now we know that the intersection is not evil in itself, but things sure can go wrong if we ignore the rules of the road and insist on blasting through. A prudent and sober person approaches the intersection carefully with full attention and gets through safely. In essence the square provides tension and awareness and how we handle it makes all the difference in the world.
Now we will get a chance to flex our astro wisdom as a series of squares and oppositions take shape over the next several days. Venus and Pluto square off on April 3 bringing strong attraction and reaction, intermingled with desire, fire and passion. Plus, the Moon is moving through Leo, dramatizing life to the fullest. Those secret crushes may not withstand the day as jealousy and other forces that seem to not be in our control come up.
Mars opposes Saturn on April 4, while Pluto stands still and begins to retrograde. Mars, Saturn and Pluto are not light, easygoing planets. They carry fairly heavy reputations in the pantheon. Mars is associated with war and aggression, Saturn with restriction, delay and frustration while Pluto weighs in as the planet associated with death and destruction. In their most obvious forms we will witness this planetary phenomena via the violence surrounding the G20 summit, with the Plutonian underground types continuing their battle for dominance in the streets. The Saturnian types represented by the police and the legal structure are certainly having their troubles as they are caught between a rock and a hard place. Sometimes one wonders who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. No doubt we have jumped out of the frying pan right into the fire and the heat is on.
April 6 and 7 are important days in which life’s unfolding drama continues to capture our attention as the Moon moves closer to her full status on April 9. We must learn the lesson that the guru’s have been trying to impart to us, that we cannot wash away blood with blood, but only with the waters of forgiveness. If we only knew how precious life really is we would be way more careful before we willingly waste a life chasing fool’s gold. God’s love and mercy far outweigh the negatives of this world and light and love will always win while the rest just keeps us indebted and suffering under the karmic load.

You may want to hold off on any rash decisions as the Moon moves through your opposite sign Libra from April 7 to 9. The full Moon on April 9 will help illuminate your path, allowing you to see what’s what and what needs to be done about it. Relationships feature prominently, or to put it another way, how you relate to people will be of importance.
April 3 and 4 are important days in which you come to terms and deal with matters of the heart and home. Anything that has been making you unhappy will probably be dealt with now or at least changed significantly. Although there are some tough decisions to be made, at least you will have peace of mind in the long run. You may sense that the clock is ticking and time is passing by, all the more reason to get your act together, especially on the internal, spiritual side of things.
Stormy days are brewing in which you have important decisions to make regarding home and career interests. April 5 to 7 are the trying days and then the storm abates and the Sun shines through brilliantly on April 8 and 9. Friends near and far feature in the days to come. Travel opportunities materialize as does your longing for a higher pathway to tread. Blessings of all sorts are close at hand.
You may be questioning your values these days. An undercurrent of restlessness pervades your psyche and has you wondering if you have made a wrong decision in your choice of mate or career path. I wouldn’t be overly concerned about it, as it is a natural process to re-evaluate your true values once in a while. You may be in the mood to make some changes though. On a more positive spin, imagine being pregnant and going through the overhaul of what stays and what goes in order to bring the new one into a healthy environment.
The Moon passes through Leo from April 3 to 5 just in time for the weekend. The Sun and the Moon form a triangular pattern on April 4 enhancing life all around. A couple of frustrating aspects are happening on the same day and although others may be pulling their hair out you may be soothing their rattled nerves. You shine through just like the rays of the Sun. Leo Rules. I’m convinced of it. Do your thing.
Mars and Saturn clash on April 4 leading to the probability of frustrations running higher than normal. Take the hint and lay back a bit rather than trying to force the issue. Keep a cool head in traffic and allow yourself lots of room and time to get where you’re going. April 6 and 7 are touchy days as well and you will have to tread lightly, tip toe if necessary, but stand firm if backed against a wall. Aside from the fearful approach it may work out as a time in which you are just working hard with not much down time.
The full Moon on April 9 takes place in your sign. Just as the full Moon illuminates the night sky, you may find that this full Moon illuminates your inner sky. In other words the light goes on and problems and concerns are dealt with. At times Libra stands accused of being indecisive. At those times you are in “fact gathering mode” and once you have weighed it all up you can act decisively and with authority. You may be pleased with the outcome of events.
Mars and Pluto, co-rulers of Scorpio are both kicking up their heels as Pluto begins to retrograde and Mars opposes Saturn on April 4. All this action, although intense is affecting your sign in a positive way. You may even enjoy the process of recreating or reinventing yourself in some way. It is a time to plan, organize all aspects of your life. Many Scorpios are naturally inclined to work out and burn off their excessive energy. Plan for a hot spring and summer which is all the more reason to get it together now.
Career frustrations seem to be at the top of the list for dear Sagittarius. April 4 to 7 are days that carry a certain intensity to them and you will have to use your Jupitarian abilities to come through unscathed. Fortunately you are most adept at seeing the big picture and along with your sense of humour, will come through with a joke or two to sum up the times.
The first ten days of the month will hardly provide much of a break. If anything your cup runneth over with too much to do, but you may not mind at all. Actually Capricorn thrives on industry of any sort as long as things are getting done and some sort of progress is recognized. With that you will untiringly move forward, onward and upward. The full Moon on April 9 brings career and home activities to the forefront.
Have you ever had that feeling that something is missing, but you just don’t know what it is? Even if you have the whole enchilada it may not be enough to fulfill the emptiness or longing that won’t go away. Possibly you are destined for a higher reality. In fact, it is a reality that you are destined for a higher road to tread in the future. Now the universe is helping to pry your fingers off the things that you once so dearly valued. Fear not, for there are much higher, brighter realities and adventures in consciousness to be had. Your work is to let go of the past and face the future.
April 3 to 7 are intense days and it won’t take much to set off a round of uncomfortable scenarios. Tensions rise to the surface and the gloves come off. Sometimes it’s just good to blow off some steam, but it may be better to take a steam and sauna and sweat out the toxins in a positive way. It might be that too much work has cropped up or you’ve had no luck finding work and has set your jaw tight. Relax and let the days pass and all will be well once again.
