The Sun moves through Capricorn until January 20. Saturn rules this dynamic Cardinal / Earth sign. The cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn carry great energy as they are the signs that lead off the seasons. Capricorn, being an earth element, lends practical wisdom along with grit and determination to reach the goal, whatever it may be, for those born under the January skies. Dedication and devotion to the principal of any one thing carry these folks a very long way. Much depends on how they elect to go.
Saturn / Capricorn energy when filtered positively produces some of the greatest leaders, deepest thinkers and solid builders of the future as they work devotedly on securing the present. Judges, lawyers, doctors, bankers, teachers, police officers, military strategists, morticians, farmers, financial flanners, realtors, bosses, parents…the list is long but generally they end up running the show, one way or the other.
Saturn / Capricorn energy when filtered negatively brings the most cruel, tyrannical, manipulative, and cunning con-men and women to the scene. Cult leader Jim Jones was a Taurus, but had Saturn rising in Capricorn and fed his drug fuelled fear and paranoia to his hapless followers, and we know the outcome. Tricky Dickey (Richard Nixon) and J. Edgar Hoover were another pair of Capricorns that got hold of power in the U.S. and much suffering ensued. The list is long, but if you look around, you will find the Capricorns in positions and pockets of power and authority. The Sea Goat is an apt totem for Capricorn as it represents the dual activities of material acquisition and spiritual devotion. One without the other represents imbalance.
Astrology’s value and usefulness lies within its capacity to predict what type of energy will unfold at any given time in one’s life or in the life of a nation. Here are a couple of predictions that we can observe in the month of January 2012. U.S. President Barack Obama’s chart is radiating serious danger and it may spell some type of incident, accident, clash or conflict for the American people or for the man himself. In ancient times the fate of a nation was reflected through the birth chart of its leader.
Tiger Woods is also in a very dangerous and highly precarious time in which some type of accident, incident or controversy may be reported in the news. His chart shows struggle until 2013 and then he will rise again to the top of the heap in the sports world if he survives the dangers of the times.

by Mac McLaughlin | Dec 3, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
The winter solstice takes place on December 21 at 9:30 PM. We have arrived at a most important juncture in which we have massive and major decisions to make and we don’t have a great amount of time to figure it all out. The question is not if Israel and Iran will clash, but when it will happen. The tension is as taut as ever and having studied the charts of Benjamin Netanyahu, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Barack Obama, I am convinced we are on the brink of disaster in the middle east.
At the time of the solstice, Saturn is conjunct with Netanyahu’s Sun and the combination indicates a most serious turn of events in which severe karmic energies are dealt with. Mars moves through Virgo and becomes retrograde on January 24, 2012, indicating Mars will be moving very slow and is known to display much more volatility, violence, aggression and unrest as a result. Mars becomes stationary right on Ahmadinejad’s Jupiter and this combination is also an indicator of aggression and war. Obama’s Mars happens to be in the same place as Ahmadinejad’s Jupiter and draws him into the play. The solar eclipse on May 20, 2012 activates very sensitive points in Netanyahu and Ahmadinejad’s horoscopes. It brings up a time in which the karmic seeds bear fruit. Two wrongs do not make a right.
We’re concerned with the equal distribution of wealth, but monetary wealth will be the least of our worries if we get this wrong. The sabre rattling may turn deadly with grave consequences for the world in its wake. The world fears Iran will attempt to destroy Israel or that Israel will strike first. There are no winners in this situation, only losers. What can we do; what must we do? Yet our fear may be displaced. It is not about who is building nuclear weapons or even who possesses them now. Our fear should be that they exist at all. The whole concept is insidious and we should all hang our heads in shame as long as these WMDs are on our planet.
If we must protest, why not protest about saving all of the precious people on the planet? We are all deserving of love and safety. This is a huge wakeup call and we must truly and unequivocally address it now. Speak up to your leaders and insist this whole cycle of paranoia and warmongering be laid to rest before it is too late. Where are the visionaries? We need you now.
It’s time to reach for the gold ring on the merry-go-round of life. Lord Mars visits Virgo for several months, offering up the opportunity to organize and harmonize your life. Diet, work and worship need an overhaul. Seek your truth.
“Make hay while the sun shines” is a fairly apt mantra for 2012. Material acquisition and manoeuvring for power, name or fame is not what I’m hinting at. You have an opportunity for real growth. A deep and profound change takes place.
December will be memorable and hopefully for the right reasons. There will be plenty of opportunities to make mistakes (yours and others), as everything seems to be in contrast and diverse forms of controversy. The lunar eclipse on December 10 will tell the tale.
The Sun’s passage through your opposite sign Capricorn starting on December 21 brings up a time for rest and recreation. Jupiter and Mars cast good energy your way for several months and progress along with success is attainable. Deal with health issues now.
Family, especially children, features strongly throughout December. Your social circle broadens as unique friendships blossom. Career sector gets a huge boost from Jupiter until mid-June as the wheel finally starts to roll freely. Romance is in the cards as well.
Fiery Mars pays a visit for the next seven months, which is great in many ways as it instils courage, stealth and bravery. Venus and Jupiter cast fine rays throughout December bringing happiness and abundance. Jupiter’s positive influence runs until next June. Walk, don’t run.
Libra people possess a very active, curious and dynamic mind that needs constant stimulation and information. The December skies offer up all kinds of excellent opportunities in which you can feed your voracious intellectual appetite. A revolution is taking place in your consciousness.
Jupiter casts his special glance your way until June 2012. Doors are open and opportunities await thee. Although you can groove on the good times, it may be wise to capitalize on this special Jupiter blessing by striving for the highest ground attainable.
A solar and lunar eclipse takes place in Sagittarius, along with retrograde Mercury. It tells of a dynamic and intense time, in which potentially all hell breaks loose. On the positive side, December brings important revelations that propel you into the future.
December starts off with Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. A new love, a new way of life along with the demise of the past takes place. It is a time of birthing and dying, laughing and crying, worshipping and growing in a most dynamic way.
Venus enters Aquarius on December 20, bringing a festive vibe to the season. The moon and Venus are conjunct on December 26, indicating you will be in fine form doing all the things Aquarians do with family, friends and strangers alike.
Home, family, relationship and career sectors are strongly activated. Diplomacy, patience and kindness are the best tools to keep at the ready as the month develops. There will be plenty of opportunities to use them. Truth, valour, courage and bravery figure in the mix.

by Mac McLaughlin | Nov 2, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
The Sun moves through tropical Scorpio from October 23 to November 22. Ruled by fiery Mars and co-ruled by the deep and mysterious Pluto we find that Scorpio natives are naturally inclined towards leadership roles and power positions. It’s never half way, but all the way, or no way with Scorpio. There are some interesting totems associated with this sign, the first being the serpent, or scorpion. This one says, “sting me, I sting you back”. Revenge, dominance, control, manipulation, violence, chaos and death is their game if unindividuated. The phoenix is probably the best known symbol of Scorpio and it implies the awesome regenerative and healing power that many Scorpios possess. Out the ashes a new life form is created. Where many give up, generally Scorpio is just getting warmed up. Researchers, scientists, doctors and surgeons and others that may literally transform your life come under the heading of this sign.
The eagle is the next symbol of Scorpio and it represents the purity and spiritual heights that can be attained, for no other flies as close to the sun as does this regal bird. The eagle type Scorpios are more likely to be the ones that work quietly behind the scenes ensconced deeply into their studies with no time for pomp, strut and ceremony.
We might ponder as to why these folks are so intense and intent on all that they do in the light or darkness. In ancient times the sun’s passage through this sector of the sky signalled its death, which would be resurrected in the early springtime once again. The cycle of growth has seemingly stopped and death and decay set into place refurbishing the soil for the next round of life’s activities. Beyond anything and everything that we know, the life force is the most powerful phenomena and all of life will struggle valiantly to the very last breath in order to keep it. Scorpio types are born into this energy and once focused and directed their power of concentration amalgamated with their dynamic will power produces some of the most remarkable and memorable people on the planet for good or bad. Being a fixed water sign it is often difficult for Scorpios to effect change in their own lives. Learning to surrender to the will of God and acquiescing to the universal plan that we have crafted for ourselves in our previous incarnations is the healing path for all those that suffer. Scorpio is an old soul and is definitely on its way home after its lengthily earthly sojourns.
Mars forms a grand triangle with Jupiter and Pluto mid month and with Mars moving through Virgo you will be very busy. You’re able to put it all together as you organize and plan for your future by a steady application of your willpower.
The full moon on November 10 takes place in your sign bringing important revelations. The moon travels through the nakshatra (star group) named Bharani and its shakti (power) is to take things away. Go with the flow and let go of whatever.
Ever curious, eternally restless and constantly seeking what is to be known and discovered compels the Gemini natives like the wind as they scatter hither and yon seeking their treasures of the intellect. Romance beckons thee as a does contrastment and possible controversy.
The full moon on November 10 will help illuminate your understanding as to where you stand with others, such as a sweetheart, friend or work associate. Matters related to home and family intensify which may not be negative. A busy autumn is predicted.
Career and home activities increase dynamically. You must find the balance and live within it. Earning potential increases, but what does it mean, freedom or drudgery? A sacrifice of sorts could be the remedy. Very good communication opportunities present themselves in early November.
Mars visits Virgo in the last three weeks of November. You will be busy, productive and constructive. Keep in mind the down side of Mars energy is accidents and injuries if we overstep our abilities or let frustration get the best of us.
Saturn continues his sojourn through your sign as he helps you to polish and refine what you’re all about. It is marriage or divorce time as we marry that which we love and divorce away from what is no longer worthy. It’s all good.
The full moon on November 10 is important as it will bring up what is needed most. The moon travels through Bharani the nakshatra (star group) that has the power to take things away. It is a time of intense internal perusal.
Mercury and Venus combine in your sign throughout most of the month, enhancing life in many ways. Romantic and intellectual activities keep you on the move, happily so. The solar eclipse on November 24 in Sagittarius will herald a series of important changes.
Mars and Jupiter cast fine energy into your sign indicating a powerful and active time in which you can truly accomplish all that you wish. Be careful what you wish for though, as it could take too much of your time and energy.
The full moon on November 10 illuminates your solar houses ruling career, family and real estate. Speaking of real estate your inner-state of consciousness may need some refreshing and now is the time to do so. Life amps up and all kinds of people pop up.
Mars moves through your opposite sign Virgo prompting action and reaction. Travel and romance houses are hot as well. Careers sector gets a boost and you should be competitive. Intellectual stimulation and a hunger to learn and discover propel you along.

by Mac McLaughlin | Oct 2, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
The lunar cycle governs all activities on the planet. The new moon signifies a fresh start while a full moon indicates a culmination or completion of sorts. The new moon on September 27 holds the keys to whatever type of cosmic/karmic energy that is destined to unfold for humankind throughout October. The new moon takes place in early Libra with Mercury and Venus close by. Libra is the sign of balance, harmony and beauty. Libra is a cardinal air sign and is best known as the sign of relationships, agreements or war. We wake up to the reality that we have a tremendous amount of healing to do in all areas of life.
I imagine there are more than a few bruised egos out there following the fallout from the riot. [Vancouver Stanley Cup riot, June 15, 2011] Plus, we have serious work to do and not a whole lot of time to bicker either pro or con. Justice needs to be done and the slow hand of our present- day legal system has many people peeved to no end – murderers in law school, other schools in need of serious repair, bigwigs patting each other on the back and handing out awards as they go, even if their actions cost us billions of dollars. The point is we need a healing and we will have to dig deep into our hearts and work towards forgiveness, tolerance, balance and harmony. It will not be a cakewalk and, if anything, fierce battles will rage as the month begins and heads will roll among the high and mighty. Blame really won’t do any longer. It is time to face the harsh realities and digest what we have dined on over the last several months.
The full moon on October 11 will bring it all home reality-wise, as dear old Saturn is aligned with the full moon indicating the fall of a king or a brutal political battle with significant fallout all the way around. Fortunately, Saturn is exalted while in Libra, a harbinger of our being in the mood to get it right and to move forward with wisdom, hopefully not hardened, but willing to take our licks and get on with the business of running our beautiful gem of a city and the most wonderful country on the planet. Saturn and the Sun are not good buddies and when they meet up we will experience the results in the markets and all places that need correction and discipline. “I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go.”.
You are a diamond in the rough, with great potential but needing polish. Multi-faceted, highly talented, you just need some inner direction. Now the stars have you in their focus and will demand your highest performance in the times to come.
Make hay while the Sun shines. October starts off rocky and others will possibly rub you the wrong way. The gig is within, getting others onside and not on opposite sides. The end of the month will bring significant revelations and opportunities for cooperative ventures.
As one astrologer said, “You may not be the true cowboy, but you can play the part real well.” It’s all about your creativity and your ability to win people over. Courage, truth and honour work wonders throughout the month. Pay attention to health concerns.
Fight or flight, what will it be? A special configuration called a cardinal T-square forms at new moon time on September 27 and will affect your sign in a very dynamic way throughout the month. Home, career and relationship activities intensify.
Mars and Jupiter square off as the month begins. Hopefully, Mars provides courage, strength and enthusiasm, versus dominance, frustration or impatience. Sparks are flying – ideally figuratively, not literally. A very busy time ensues and all kinds of new people are entering your life.
Your solar second house of personal earnings is lit up like a Christmas tree, as is your ninth house of travel. A very busy month unfolds and no doubt you will be busy. It is also very important to take time to smell the roses.
It’s your time to shine. If not, then it is your time to repair and renew all that you do. The full moon on October 11 will bring important revelations. All aspects of life are changing and you must accommodate the changes.
It is time to go deep into the essence of all things. Happiness does not come from without, but from within. You can play now and pay later, or pay now and play later. The next few years tell the tale.
Lord Jupiter retrogrades in your solar sixth house prompting you to review many aspects of your life, such as health matters, working conditions and how you work with other people. Speaking of others, this is a time of solidifying long-term connections.
Your solar career sector is on fire. As a matter of fact, all aspects of life are fully engaged. Intense and dynamic days unfold. Power plays abound, as do opportunities for personal growth. Walk, don’t run. Keep a keen eye on your own motives.
October will be what you make of it. You can come out swinging and do righteous battle and right the wrongs. Another approach is to utilize your wit, wisdom and love while turning the lemons into lemonade. Travel and romance come into play.
All things metaphysical may become of interest as you seek answers to life’s riddles. Some aspect of your life is ending and a dawning new reality is taking shape. Soon, you can get in touch with it. A deep wisdom etches into your soul.

by Mac McLaughlin | Sep 6, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
In ancient times, the astrologers would cast the royal horoscope of their King believing that whatever fate had in store for him was also the fate of the country and thusly themselves. Today, everyone and everything has a horoscope, be it a person, company, corporation, marriage or the start of any event. Canada began as a nation on July 1, 1867. The stars tell a wondrous tale of the energy that would prevail from that day onward for our beloved Canada. We have the dog whisperer, horse whisperer and, I guess, star whisperers as well.
Our nation was born just hours before a new moon in the sign of Cancer, the sign most related to family, caring, providing and protecting. We think of Cancer as feminine, nurturing and somewhat connected to antiquity, history and such. While that is all true, Cancer the crab can also produce action and hero figures such as Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo. Stallone is a Cancer and the movie was filmed here in BC. Cancer types are tenacious and fiercely protective of their own. They are also more than willing to lend a hand to those in need wherever and whenever the case may be.
The planet Uranus is tightly conjunct with the Sun and Moon in our collective birth chart bringing a true sense of originality and independence as well as a strong humanitarian flavouring witnessed within our multi-cultured societies from coast to coast. This conjunction may also make us stand out in our own very unique ways. Jupiter casts a wonderful blessing our way in the form of a triangle to the Sun, Moon and Uranus. We are loved and respected for our liberal and fair treatment of humanity and the average Canadian is perceived as friendly and open. But we have our underbelly too. Fiery Mars opposes Jupiter and although we never spoil for a fight and perhaps never misuse our might, we are very competitive – fiercely so. Ask any hockey-crazed fan.
Seemingly, we have been on the ropes as the world economies go through a big shakeout. The stars are hinting the next few years will be some of the best for us. Jupiter brings his blessings in the form of opportunities for growth and success. In the face of all the gloom and doom out there, I don’t see it for Canada. Prime Minister Harper’s Venus is close to Venus in Canada’s chart and Jupiter passes over that area in September of 2012 bringing expansion, cooperation and growth. Then, in late June of 2013, Jupiter enters Cancer bringing more breakthroughs and more of a tendency towards harmony. Relax and enjoy for these will probably be called the good old days.
Out with the old and in with the new is the mantra of the times. Changes are in the wind and it is best to ride them, as best you can. The truth sets you free as a new reality dawns upon you.
It’s your time to shine. Opportunities await thee. The stars are leaning in your favour. Others notice and pick up on your integrity, honesty and loyalty. Forget the stars! Go do your thing. Just don’t go overboard or get too crazy with anything.
You may be restless and sensing that changes are close at hand. You are right. Career and home topics become intensified. Certainly, move towards what makes you happy. Jupiter enters Gemini next June and is a great birthday present bringing breakthroughs and abundance.
The Cardinal signs – Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries – are strongly activated bringing a very challenging and exciting time in which great changes manifest and you may be at your best. Cohesion, blending and joining are key phrases symbolizing September’s highly charged energy.
Kick back and enjoy the late summer days and dream away. A little bit of R&R will do you good. Mars visits Leo beginning September 18, bringing action, attraction, adventure and excitement and possibly some danger in late September and throughout October.
The new moon on August 28 bodes well and brings promises of abundance and opportunity throughout the month. The full moon on September 12 indicates excitement as a series of revelations illuminate your inner consciousness. A lively time unfolds.
Saturn reaches the middle of the scales in early September. You can check how you’re doing by what is unfolding in your life. Hard times come in order to correct problems and good times come for those that have been willing to do so.
The stars are favouring Scorpio throughout September. Strong effort on your part will pay dividends just like working out at the gym does. Mix and mingle and let others discover your talents and gifts. Life intensifies towards the end of the month.
Career objectives come into play. Home and family figure too. A move or travel plans might be the case. The cosmic wheel spins a bit easier for Sagittarius these days, meaning that you can get further with less effort than most this month.
Pluto moving through Capricorn took Premier Gordon Campbell down. He resurrected himself with a very cushy job as Canada’s high commissioner to the UK. A death and a birth took place and this is quite reflective of Pluto’s power of destruction and renewal for all Capricorns.
If you have planets in the latter half of Aquarius, you may feel like you are visiting another planet for the first 10 days of the month. Travel plans may materialize and romantic, intellectual, artistic and spiritual energies become enhanced from mid-month onwards.
Mercury and Neptune continue their dance and the combination is very good for dreamers, inventers, psychics, musicians, artists and actors. But it can make it darn tough to get anything figured out in a concrete way. Take your time and let life unfold its mysteries.

by Mac McLaughlin | Aug 4, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
The Vancouver riot was sheer lunacy and it had to have been a bunch of lunatics that instigated it and participated in it. How could our very own kids, wholesome ‘Canucks’ that they are, with all the privileges of the very free and permissive society they live in, engage in such mayhem and destruction? After some severe ass chewing and major finger pointing among the power types, everyone walked away scratching their heads in wonderment as to what the hell happened to our beautiful city.
Even among the competent astrologers, no one knew that game seven was heading our way on June 15, until it was nearly upon us. While it is too late to close the barn door on this one, it might be possible for us to learn from our mistakes and use all of the facilities and tools available when we’re in the midst of long-term planning for future major events.
The ancients had this stuff figured out and you can bet your bottom loonie they kept a keen eye on what the stars had to say. They were well aware of the Moon’s effect upon all of life’s activities and events. Full Moons, eclipses and such were harbingers of positive or negative experiences. Every day, the Moon moves about 13 degrees of longitude with the fixed stars in the background. The ancients called these 13-degree increments ‘nakshatras’ or lunar mansions. They noticed that, when the moon moved through some of these lunar mansions, there were happy and peaceful times while other nakshatras would bring an evil chill to the air with horrendous events taking place.
Well, guess what folks? The full Moon lunar eclipse on June 15 took place while the moon was moving though the 19th nakshatra named Mula. The goddess Nirritti presides over this nakshatra and she is the goddess of destruction and mayhem. Anger, violence, hostilities and riotous energies prevail when the Moon moves through this nakshatra. Add to the equation the full Moon eclipse energy, a massive crowd fuelled by alcohol and a disappointing loss and, as they say, the rest is history.
Now the spin masters have us voting yes or no on the HST and as we know, “Yes” means no and “No” means yes. The stars will assist on this one as Mercury goes retrograde on August 2 while in opposition to Neptune. This configuration stays in place throughout the first half of August, bringing confusion, obstruction, deception, delays, misconception and other confoundedness that will make our collective heads spin. I don’t know about you, but I’m heading to the beach.
Hanta Yo. It means, “clear the way.” The August stars are swaying in your favour. It is important you live in your truth. Although you may want to play, you may find there are many hurdles and challenges for you to overcome.
Abundance, popularity and good timing, along with fortuitous and serendipitous events, are just a few of the many blessings Jupiter brings your way throughout the year. Gambling, speculation, overspending and sloppy thinking can bring trouble though. Moderation in all things is best.
Dear old Mercury retrograde takes place and its effects will be felt throughout the month. Behave like the three monkeys: Hear, see and speak no evil. Even with that, others are likely to get you wrong. Otherwise, let the good times roll.
Mars pays a visit for several weeks stirring up all kinds of excitement, restlessness, action, attraction, danger and drama. Take it easy or take it hard. It’s a great time for adventure and discovery and also a time to tread lightly.
Daddy’s home! The Sun, Venus and Mercury move through your sign bringing, light, love, laughter and news. However, retrograde Mercury opposite to Neptune can bring misunderstandings, misdirection and downright fraud. Honesty is the only policy and love is the only currency.
Remember that guy Murphy? Well, he’s around. Murphy’s law will be in effect throughout the month. Concentration, deliberation, honesty and patience will get you through. The Virgo new Moon on August 28 is special and will bring forth unique circumstances and opportunities throughout September.
Many people dread the cycles of Saturn as it is said he brings impoverishment and illness. Yet, contrarily, Saturn brings the greatest rewards and the sweetest freedom once his seemingly astringent lessons are digested and assimilated. A profound wisdom dawns like the Sun’s rays on a new day.
Opportunities regarding employment and travel come up. August is a month filled with complexities and mysteries. Many Scorpios are deeply intuitive and now is a time this gift will come into play. ‘Truth and honour’ is the mantra of the times.
Your travel and romance sectors are alive and active. Family outings, times of great entertainment and laughter bring you through August nicely. Health and joint finances figure into the play. Foreign cultures and matters of the higher mind take precedence. A great learning curve takes hold.
August may prove to be hot. Mars, Uranus and Pluto form a T-square with your sign involved and the combination brings stress and certain dangers to the fore. You have your work cut out for you, but you might not mind.
The full moon on August 13 takes place in your sign. Venus, Mercury and Neptune are involved bringing a very dynamic and possibly magical time in which cupid’s arrow finds his mark. Illusion and confusion have their play. Honesty, patience and clarity help immensely.
The Mercury/Neptune opposition involves your sign and it might take awhile to sort through all that comes to pass in the first half of August. Dreams and intuition help in figuring out the way to go. Take your time before signing anything of importance.

Happy birthday Canada! In astro-logic, a ‘birthday’ is a celebration of the return of the Sun to its exact degree of longitude according to your time of birth. As we know, birthdays are either high or low times, times of laughter or tears. As to how things go, much will depend on the condition and position of the planets overhead and how they relate to your birth planets.
At the time of the solar eclipse on July 1, the Sun returns to the exact location it occupied when Canada became a nation. The eclipse heralds a new beginning and a time of a great transition for our nation. Prime Minister Stephen Harper has a majority government and it is on the move. Jupiter rises in the east in the eclipse chart and will hover over Harper’s Sun in Taurus throughout the coming months. This is a very good omen for him, the people, the economy and the country. His power and popularity will increase, as he strives to keep the ship on a steady course. Saturn has a strong influence as well and we might as well get ready to tighten the belt as a series of astringency measures, cutbacks and other trimmings are put into place. We may not enjoy the castor oil remedy, but it is probably necessary and will help in the long run. It really sounds like business as usual, but with more intensity as we blossom and bloom as a country.
The stars are indicating a loss or a departure of someone significant, as solar eclipses with a hand from Saturn will point to the loss of a leader. It is also an indicator of some type of fallout among the high and mighty. Possibly some type of abuse of power will be exposed. I’m sure we’ll read all about it soon enough.
Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson’s chart receives the benefits of Jupiter this year bringing increased popularity and support. We will hear much more about this man as his star is rising and he will be an influential leader for some time to come. His strong Virgo qualities prompt him towards streamlining and organizing all that he can. With a prominent Jupiter in his birth chart, he will garner the trust and support of the people. I imagine that some day he will lead the province if he doesn’t stray off course and become seduced by the glitter and gold. Virgo people are generally very pragmatic, sensible, realistic, dedicated and hard working. Truth, trust and honour will be the wind that fills his sails. ‘Service to the people’ will be his mantra.

We start the month with a solar eclipse on June 1, followed by a lunar eclipse on June 15, finishing up the month with the summer solstice on June 21. That is a whole lot of planetary energy expressed through the Sun and the Moon. The Gemini new Moon (solar eclipse) indicates a time of increased communication and heightened business, trade and exchange. Saturn forms a triangle with the new Moon indicating a move towards harmony, balance and rhythm throughout the month. Mercury, lord of the new Moon, is in square with Neptune hinting at possible lies and deception being revealed. Confusion, misdirection and mistakes are the general themes with this type of energy unfolding. Read the fine print, assume nothing and get the facts.
Overall, we have a great opportunity to get it right for a change and there will be ample opportunities to fail if we become too lackadaisical. Careful consideration and being patient and honourable is the way to go. Any form of hurry and worry with a mix of confusion can spell trouble. Expressed another way, we might say, “Measure twice, cut once.”
The full Moon (lunar eclipse) on June 15 holds great promise, at least in the sense that whatever concerns we have been on about will come to some form of culmination or completion. We come to terms with what we’ve learned through the news media, as we adjust continuously to the conditions, however and wherever we must. I hope I’m not being too optimistic, but it looks like we’re getting a break and we can relax as we approach the summer season.
The summer solstice on June 21 unfolds with a mix of planetary energy that needs some deciphering. Mercury and Saturn square off just after the solstice indicating some type of concern regarding transportation, communication and agreements. The solstice chart gives an indication of the energy prevailing over the next three months. The economy, gas prices and international concerns may not be easily resolved and there may be a fair amount of frustration and confusion as we start the summer season. I sense a cosmic break in which we are able to get down to having some fun for a while. How many elections, wars, protestations, machinations and recriminations must we bear?
It is time to heal and prepare for the future and for our children. The Sun is in good aspect with Neptune at the time of the solstice bringing a renewed faith and a broader capacity to love and respect one another. One people, one planet.
Aries are not long-term planners. Instinctive, reactive and intuitive, you will know when to make a change. Live in the moment, plan a little bit and remain ready to adapt and adjust to the universal plan, which is guaranteed to take place.
A very dynamic and opportune time has arrived. Watch for what you wish for as you may very well have your dreams come through. You can party hearty and dance the nights away or truly strive to make something of yourself.
A steady stream of things to do, places to go and people to see create a whirlwind month in which important changes congeal. Revelations and all kinds of realizations take place as the full Moon illuminates your inner psyche on June 15.
The summer solstice on June 21 heralds your solar high of the year. However, you may not be feeling too high as you come to terms with the Herculean tasks that must be accomplished in order for you to realize your goals and dreams.
Often, it’s whom you know that gets you where you want to go. Now is the time to extend yourself to others. Friends and connections multiply. Possible romance and strong activity related to business and career objectives unfold. Just be your sunny self.
Travel and career sectors are hot. Home and family activities are important too. It’s all about organization and systemization, which are truly Virgoan topics anyway. Do one thing at a time wholly and soulfully, as you sort through all you must do.
Life’s mysteries deepen and so will your love and compassion. Inheritances, joint monies and other such matters come to the fore. Travel and the higher mind pique your interest. The dawning light of hope casts its rays your way. A sombre wisdom fortifies you.
Is it better to be loved or feared? Now is a time in which success can be achieved. It all depends on how you handle power and people. Inspiration versus intimidation – it’s all up to you. Sparks are flying in every direction.
Set a pace and stay within it throughout June. There will be quite a demand on your time and energy. The Sagittarius lunar eclipse on June 15 will bring important revelations regarding present-day concerns. The swords may come out in the last half of the month.
A potent mix of planetary energy unfolds throughout the month. Love and friendships blossom as does a great appreciation for all that life has to offer. A transformative time has arrived in which many changes come your way. You are on a mission of discovery.

Between the poles of the conscious and the unconscious, there has the mind made a swing: thereon hang all beings and all worlds and that swing never ceases its sway. Millions of beings are there: the sun and the moon in their courses are there: millions of ages pass and the swing goes on. All swing! The sky and the earth and the air and the water and the Lord Himself taking form: and the sight of this has made Kabîr a servant.
Sant Kabir’s words take my breath away. His poem puts things into perspective and brings us to the realization that whatever our present day troubles and concerns are, they are fleeting ripples in the sands of time. As the great poet William Blake penned, “Eternity is ever in love with the products of time.”
We won’t be able to measure the impact of the radioactive material being dumped into the ocean for a while, but we do know the outcome cannot be good. It may very well change the course of our lives and the planetary indicators are saying the same thing.
Regardless of how much we acquire, it is never enough. Greed, lust, anger, ego and pride trip us up all along the way. Soon, we will grow weary and we will have had enough of this hectic and stressful lifestyle. Neptune has just commenced his 15-year journey through his own sign Pisces and is a harbinger of a spiritual awakening. The negative connotation is within the realm of any form of escapism, such as drugs and other forms of addictions. The positive side of this Neptune transit is that it will open our eyes and hearts to humanity’s sufferings. Our yearning for peace and love will increase and we will long for the day in which we rest our head in the lap of the creator. We have all the technology in the world to stay in touch with each other, yet we confoundedly fail miserably at it. We have not figured out or come to the realization that we are one people on one planet. Instead, we continue sabre rattling, strutting and showing off our powers to annihilate one another. Well, we sure showed those guys, didn’t we?
The short of it is there will be no rest and then we’re put to rest and the cycle of awagawan continues throughout time. Awagawan is a term describing the transmigration of the souls through the myriad 8,400,000 species, called the cycle of “84.” Only love will do.

Lord Mercury and lovely Venus hold hands throughout the month bringing untold pleasantries and mysteries for your indulgence. It just gets better in June. Time with friends and family and doing what you love fill the days. Spring is in the air.
Your solar career sector is heating up and it will serve you well to put a few irons in the fire. If one gets hot, you’re on your way. Friends, groups and associations feature throughout the month. Special lifetime connections are made.
You are a fixed fire sign indicating you have great will and determination. Dynamic challenges in the work place arise throughout the month and you may find you have your sleeves rolled up and going hard it. Internal work calls out for attention.
Journeys of inner discoveries and/or travel to the far horizon take place. Inheritances, joint monies and investments are topics of interest. A very productive time has arrived in which you can achieve your goals or at least be well on your way.
Your solar seventh house of partnerships is very activated in the first half of May. Out with the old and in with the new may be the mantra of the times. Life’s mysteries deepen in the second half of the month. Go with the flow.
Powerful days and powerful plays take place. It is a time of contrast and opposition. This may not be a bad thing and it could spur you on to greater achievements. The full moon on May 17 will illuminate the areas of resistance and static.
A very dynamic month unfolds. Courage and confidence get a boost. Doors open that were previously shut tight. Make the best of it and lead the way in true Sagittarius style. The last half of the month is spent working out the details.
A great churning motion is taking place and many challenges and changes lay ahead. Lord Saturn features prominently in this month’s new moon on May 2. Dynamic scenarios which call for action take place. Your wisdom, dedication, determination and grit are needed.
Connecting and communicating with others feature big in the spirit of Aquarius. An enhanced time of communications has emerged and one way or the other, you may capture the attention of many souls.
Lord Neptune’s 15-year visit through Pisces will have a great transformative effect on all those that inhabit the Earth plane. Life will morph into hopefully higher vibrations in which we long for a deeper spiritual existence. Fortunately, you are wired right and will flower in your own unique way.

by Mac McLaughlin | Apr 1, 2011 | Weekly Forecasts
A most profound and provocative time has arrived. The planet is spinning faster, much faster, and no, not the rate of motion, but if the activity of our collective karma could be measured, it would be right off the scales. Big movements are in the wind. It is not the time to talk nicely or politely; it’s time to take the gloves off and get down to some bare-knuckle exchanges. My, my, what is he going on about, one might ask?
Now that you have asked, let me run it down for you. The new moon on April 3 tells the tale of the energy that will prevail throughout the month. A new moon indicates new starts, fresh beginnings and launches of any type of activity or enterprise. Mars’ lord of the Aries new moon is conjunct with Uranus in the first degree of Aries, while Saturn makes an exact opposition to the new moon. It means that we have entered a time that is highly volatile, shaky and explosive. Mars is the planet of war, violence and aggression while Uranus is the planet of revolution, upset, shock, shift and change. Saturn is pretty much the grim reaper and he casts his heavy hand into the play. Possibly, the trouble spots will ignite; maybe they already have. At the time of this writing on March 4, all eyes are on the mid east. Near or far, everything is in flux, as a new churning and burning desire to get things right for the sake of humanity inspires us to do something about it, now. It is not time to cower in fear; it is time for movement and protestation across the land. All fiefdoms will get a shakeout and they may be destroyed. Personally and collectively, now is the time to get it on and reach for the moon, sun and stars.
Did you read David Suzuki’s interview last month? He is an Aries and I’m an Aries and Aries people are on the move, holding the torchlight and pointing in the direction we must move towards. Save the humans, whales and every other thing that needs saving.
Okay, relax, breathe in, breathe out and do it again. The good news is that Jupiter, king of the gods, is conjunct with the new moon and gives a promise of faith, good will and lucky breaks all around. In other words, it is not doomsday, but it is a time in which we must arise and put our collective shoulder to the grindstone and cleanse, streamline and correct the problematic areas wherever and whatever they are. I know it all sounds ominous, but, in actuality, we have a grand opportunity to truly make some giant steps. Presently, we’re winnowing the Neanderthals and removing the despots and the deeply ingrained power pockets that have become insanely abusive and hugely detrimental to our well being. The full moon on April 17 will tell the tale. It is just as impactful as the new moon and once again we will be incensed, as we move toward freedom and justice for all.
Ram or lamb, what will it be? From one Aries to another, you will never come across a time like this again in your life. Fate and destiny impatiently await thee. Move or be moved; take charge or get out of the way.
Much is happening behind the scenes and it will soon be revealed. One of your best years is taking shape and you must make the best of it. Start now and strive for the high ground by clearing and cleansing wherever it is needed.
Practically the whole of the heavens is casting warm and positive glances your way. With a slight effort on your part, the universe will respond abundantly while with a major effort, you can achieve more than you imagined.
Oh passionate one, it is your time to impact the world. Presently, it is your stage. It may not be easy and the demands are heavy, but you might not mind. Everyone’s watching on this one. Make your moves now.
High adventure is on the horizon and great times are indicated. Trinkets and baubles may no longer interest you, but seeking love and spirituality may very well capture your heart and soul. Move toward the light.
Something deep and moving takes place. Discoveries, including self-discovery, may come your way. Grace, love and harmony cast their glances. Inheritances, mysteries and a deep longing stir your curiosity.
A bucket chart has formed on April 3 and the handle is in Libra. The six-planet alignment in Aries is funnelling into Libra, bringing a profound time of movement, controversy, contrast and change. Work within it.
Your main objective throughout April is taking care of yourself, health-wise. It is also a time to sort through and rearrange everything. Getting others onside and working collectively may bring success your way.
Your solar house of business, entertainment, children, love and romance is totally activated throughout the month. It means you can make your way with ease and style, as unique opportunities crop up now.
Home and family feature stronger than ever. Perhaps they have been ignored as you climbed your mountain toward success. Now is the time to repair and renew and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
A new attitude is developing. Creative levels are on the rise and opportunities to show your stuff emerge. It is a good month to mix and mingle and extend yourself to others. Muster your courage and bust a move or two.
It may be time for a deep evaluation of your situation. It is the time for a new direction to manifest. Health, relationships and resources are the main topics and you may experience a windfall or increase of sorts.
