“No two Astrologers shall agree upon anything,” was the curse that Lord Vishnu cast upon the stargazers, when he realized that they we’re affecting his life too much. The curse seems to still be in effect. In one of the glossy rags dedicated to professional astrology, an astrologer wrote that the upcoming solar eclipse on January 14, 2010 was fairly benign. As for myself, in my humble opinion, I carry the exact opposite view. The solar eclipse on January 14/15, 2010 is the most powerful, important and potent eclipse that we will experience in the next ten years. I don’t think that we need to hide under our desks on January 14, and we will not witness the eclipse as it occurs late at night well after sunset. No starry phenomena to stare at, but lots of very dynamic karmic action unfolding and manifesting as huge events that affect the destiny of man in the days, weeks and months after the eclipse.

The eclipse takes place in late Capricorn, the sign of big business, governments and all ruling agencies and parties. Saturn, lord of the eclipse rises in Libra as he reaches exalted status. This just means that whatever Saturn stands for will be in effect strongly. Saturn in Libra represents the effort to bring things to order and balance. Judgments are made, decisions that affect the world take shape and are put into place. So far, we’re just doing our normal observations as we strive to understand planetary behavior. What gets me squirming in my seat is the fact that this particular solar eclipse conjuncts U.S. President Barack Obama’s Saturn and First Lady Michelle Obama’s Sun indicating very important developments taking place that will have a powerful effect on their lives, the lives of the people that they lead and those that oppose. Just before you nod off with the numbness of yet another astrologer droning on about the forebodings of the future, we might want to take into consideration that at the time of the eclipse Saturn is practically stopped in the sky as he prepares to retrograde and at the same time Mercury the planet of communications, plans, business and commerce also is reversing direction, each within a day of the eclipse. Yes this makes me sweat and I can only imagine what will be born out of this time period. We had a major solar eclipse involving Saturn in January 1991 just at the start of the gulf war. This eclipse effects the most powerful man in the world and his wife. They are the leaders of the free world and big movements are in the wind.

Venus, Lord of Libra is in conjunction with the eclipse. Venus and Saturn are in mutual reception meaning that they are in each other’s signs, yet another indicator that the karmic angels are afoot. On top of this fine planetary entanglement is the fact that stationary Mercury is conjunct with Pluto, while stationary Saturn is in square with Mercury and Pluto and is a final indicator that something is up and soon enough we will hear all about it as man continues to find ways to live and cooperate with one another.

Now is the time in which we must work our hardest and strive our strongest in order to bring a lasting peace to this little piece of real estate that we tentatively coexist on. No doubt the forces of darkness and light will clash once again. As ominous and oppressive as it all sounds, keep in mind it is nothing new as this is the general fare of existing in the plane of duality under the sway of the mind and senses. The Great Saint, Baba Sawan Singh Ji Maharaj said that where there is mind and Maya, there can be no peace. What we’re after lies above the causal plane, where duality leaves off and we begin to come into our own as we rise higher and higher back to our true home high above the stars, suns, moons, planets and galaxies. No fear, no worry, only love and more love will do. See you on the high side.

Gird your loins, put on your helmet and shoulder pads and be ready for the rocket ship ride of your life in 2010 – 2011 and onwards, upwards and maybe even sideways. I’m trying to keep it down, but being an Aries myself, I can hardly contain my excitement as I contemplate the presence of Jupiter and Uranus in Aries starting in June 2010. Have no shame in your game and after you have dreamt up what you really want to do and what you want to make, double it and go for it. Most importantly, don’t lose sight of the true goal which is self realization, spiritual emancipation, freedom and love. Now get busy.

You’re off the hook, you get a free pass and the road in front of you is clear of obstructions. I know it sounds weird, so let me take another run at it. The stars are looking the other way, they are not in the way, and although we cannot claim a clear karmic ledger as long as we dwell on the earth, it seems to me that Taurus is getting a cosmic break of sorts. Oh yes there will be a fair share of planetary activity affecting your sign throughout 2010, but none directly, or too dramatically. Family and real-estate feature, as do health matters, but mainly you may be seeking a deeper significance and meaning to life and you may possibly commence a search for the truth.

Read Taurus as the general tenor will be the same for your sign. The big planets are not moving through Gemini in 2010, but will affect your sign as they cast aspects such as squares, trines etc. Your solar career sector heats up throughout the year as special offers and opportunities present themselves. A career makeover may be in the wind. Children and all that they represent will become an important feature throughout the next two years. Long term romances may flourish. Travel, academia, and the countless and never ending curiosities that percolate the labyrinth of the Gemini mind will be pursued with a renewed interest and vigor. New contacts, new circles and friends morph into existence, no doubt to your delight. Writing and research fill the days.

January to June is your prep time as you gear up, man up and make ready for a cornucopia of challenges and changes of the most dramatic kind. You may get a whiff of what is in the wind in the guise of potential new job offers that may be tantalizingly desirable but dangerous, life altering and no doubt, exciting. A deep and profound relationship may alter your course and you may discover that you are in the midst of an important redirection, orientation and rebirthing on many levels. You are a dynamic cardinal water sign indicating great passion and energy in all that you do, tenacious no doubt, and more than capable when the mood strikes you right. Home, family and education feature prominently now. Get a move on.

In the Wizard of Oz, the Lion was on his way to see the Wizard so that he could gain his courage and pride. When he bullied the Tin Man the girl smacked him and called him a coward. He wept and soon they were off on their search. It might be your time to find the wizard or at least regain your courage, pride and strength. Mars continues his visit to your sign until early June helping you in every way. Mars represents exploration, confrontation, strength, metal, fire, surgery, battles and bravery. It is time to take a stand for what you believe in. New vistas are opening, new adventures of the highest kind are looming just over the horizon. Suck it up and move towards the future. Travel and the higher mind are hot topics, soon to be hotter as the year progresses. Do be careful as the Mars energy can be lethal if mishandled. Respect machines and fire and try to curb the daredevil thing, unless that really is your thing.

Saturn spent the last two years moving through Virgo. He is not light and frivolous in his ways and often brings serious life changing events into our lives. The economy has been tough and the job market scarce. I think of Virgo as the perfect sign that can accommodate Saturn’s dictates and doctrines as the planet Saturn and the sign Virgo have the same modus operandi. Order and harmony, hard work, dedication and devotion are the key words for this Saturn and Virgo combination. Uranus is moving though your opposite sign Pisces and Saturn will make an opposition with Uranus in the spring of 2010. Those born between September 19 and 21 will be most affected. Saturn demands that you live in a natural, organic way, while Uranus challenges us to be original. I call it the double ‘O’ effect, as in Organic and Original. It may be time to revolutionize yourself in some way, or possibly the universe will do it for you. It’s all good.

A profound time is shaping up as the big planets line up in Libra, Aries and Capricorn in 2010. Saturn visits Libra which is his sign of exaltation indicating that you can get the best from his visit. His ways are starchy, rigid and generally not much fun, but like taking castor oil, although not desirable, will make you feel better in the long run. Jupiter and Uranus begin their journeys through your opposite sign Aries starting in early June guaranteeing to bring exciting, challenging and dynamic energies and changes into your life. Don’t look back and certainly gear up for all kinds of dynamic changes that will take place in 2010-11. Health, harmony and balance are the key ingredients for success.

There is no major direct planetary activity out of the ordinary affecting your solar chart in 2010. Although most assuredly there will be plenty of planetary action that will affect the various planets in your birth horoscope that might prove to be important throughout the year. Career opportunities and challenges still exist and it may be best to cut back expenditures and such in preparation for Saturn’s visit to your sign from the fall of 2012 to December 2014. The solar eclipse on January 14 is important, powerful and impactful. Read the introduction regarding it. Venus accompanies the eclipse and she represents, love, values, ethics and morality. Plus Mercury and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn and squared off with Saturn the lord of the eclipse as he rises in the east in his exaltation sign Libra. It means that a potentially dangerous time has arrived and the seeds planted in past actions can take hold and bring their yields. Ask Tiger Woods. The lunar eclipse on December 31 fell across his sun line as we witness the devastation that is occurring in his life. Beloved, well meaning, super rich and famous, but humbled. I’m not kicking the man while he’s down, I’m helping him up, for I have walked in shoes and lost my family, from which one never really recovers. In essence it is a time of rebirthing and reinventing yourself on the deepest of levels.

It is a highly specialized time as Jupiter and Neptune have made their conjunction in your sign. Keep a diary and jot down your thoughts and inspirations, visions and dreams that come through now as there may be strong symbolic messages within them that you may not fully comprehend now. Soon life is going to take a quantum leap as the big planets start getting into the dynamic cardinal signs starting in early June 2010. They will be casting their positive energy your way and you should make best use of it. Neptune has had you in a slumber for some years and soon the fog will lift and you will see clearly which path to tread on. Awake and shake it off. December promises to be hot. I know that it is a ridiculous statement, but nonetheless, it will be a hot month regardless of the weather. We have heard the term, “Once in a Blue Moon”, and it refers to a calendar month with two full Moons in it. We start the month with a full Moon on December 1, and we finish the month with a full Moon, a ‘Blue Moon’ and Lunar eclipse to boot on New Year’s Eve. No, the Moon is not going to turn blue, but you might if you hold your breath long enough. While we dance the night away or the month away, Mars shows up and makes his presence known. He is moving through Leo and he is slowing down as he seemingly stops and reverses his direction on December 20, just a day before the winter solstice. A slow moving planet has lots of power and Mars can be coarse in his ways. Leo is a comfortable sign for Mars, as the Sun, Lord of Leo is friends with his fiery brother. God knows what this combination will cook up for mankind to dine on.

While, we’re sorting through the probable antics that the planets will bring our way we can look at a few world leaders and see how their charts are measuring up with the planetary positions. In ancient times horoscopes were cast for royalty, because the King or Emperor’s fate reflected the destiny of the masses. We await with high anticipation the fateful date of December 21, 2012. It’s all over the media these days, endless articles and programs carrying on about it. It is the date of the end of the Mayan Calendar. Prophesies abound, with the great astrologer Nostradamus leading the way as we brace for apocalyptical days. In Nostradamus’ predictions he talks about a great and powerful Solar Eclipse around the time of the 2012 phenomena that would have a major effect on mankind. Well I have checked every solar eclipse from now until 2020 and the only one that really measures up Nostradamus’ description occurs on January 14, 2010! Two other solar eclipses that will affect Canada and the U.S. will take place on January 6, 2019, and June 21, 2020. More on these dates later. The effects of a solar eclipse may last for up to five years. If the eclipse lands on a personal planet in your birth chart it will point to important karmic developments that have ripened and matured and now must be endured, positive or negative, according to our karma and the condition of our birth horoscopes.

What I am carrying on about is the fact that the solar eclipse on January 14/15, 2010 will conjunct U.S. President Barack Obama’s Saturn and Michelle Obama’s Sun, bringing a most powerful fate and destiny into their lives. Well, they are the leaders of the free world and of course they have massive responsibilities on their shoulders. In the midst of this concern, Mars comes along and becomes stationary on December 20, 2009 at 19 degrees of Leo which happens to be the seventh house cusp of President Obama’s horoscope. It is the house of marriage or war. Those that oppose or stand by us in battle are represented by the seventh house. This Mars position puts him in grave danger, whilst the planet Uranus makes an opposition to President Obama’s Mars, at the same time increasing the likelihood of some type of great upset or concern unfolding. The stress and strain of office may take its toll and a rest may be needed. I pray that none of this comes to pass and I hope that they will come through unscathed. I cannot imagine the hefty and weighty decisions that will have to be made in the near future in order to handle the problems of our world. So, my guess is that whatever happens in the short term surrounding this eclipse will snowball into the concerns we’ll have to deal with over the next several years.

The tension in the middle east is not diminishing at all as the world powers and Iran continue their nerve jangling game of nuclear chess. Pluto continues his journey through Capricorn and will make an opposition to the Sun and planets in the Canadian and U.S. charts until 2015 indicating an important time in which great changes take place within our societies and cultures. It gets darker and darker, and lighter and lighter as the forces of positive and negative energy continue their eternal struggle for dominance. We know in the end that the light and the positive will win. No doubt about it. A rebirth occurs and a new spiritual, less materialistic reality becomes the norm over time. So I think the Mayans are right and the world as we knew it, is dying off and the world of the future is coming to life. Dying and birthing, birthing and dying, oh yes, here we go. No fear, as the karma or drama was written and signed for long ago, possibly further than we could ever imagine. It’s all good and it is all grace in the sense of the opportunities to get it right and to bring some type of peace to the planet. Nothing less than a total catharsis of our ways and values will do. As my Guru would say, “You cannot wash away blood with blood, but only with the waters of forgiveness.” Mankind must awaken to this universal, spiritual thought.

We all want to be treated well and respected. When the pundits weighed in on President Obama’s deep bow when he met the leaders of Japan, they said it was embarrassing that he would bow to anybody. In my mind it represented the deep humility and respect that abides within Barack Obama. Imagine the man (King or President) with the most power in the world in his hands, coming to your door step with a deep gesture of kindness and respect. It is what is needed. Let’s drop the ego B.S. and embrace one another and get on with the business of feeding and educating all people in all places. Remember the mantra, “One love, one people, one planet.”

The December skies favour dear Aries. Travel and career sectors are alive and activated. Publishing and education feature strongly along with opportunities for growth and expansion work-wise. Romance, adventure and excitement fill the days. It sounds like you will be very busy right through the month. Although the stars are favouring you, it does not mean that it is a cake walk at all. Music, art, magic and mysteries capture your attention. You may be traveling in the last portion of the month, after the winter solstice on December 21. You will have to chill out and cope with ongoing irritants that continue to trip you up for the next few months. Moves, construction, buying and selling of property are in the forecast, which seems ridiculous for most sedentary Taurus types around Christmas time. Possibly it may be just a great amount of action at home with family and friends.

The majority of planets are casting fine energy your way throughout December. A quickening effect is noticed and life’s activities pick up, creating an increased demand on your time, which you may not mind. The month starts off with a bang as the full Moon on December 1, takes place in your sign. Plus Mercury and Neptune harmonize bringing a flow of ideas and intuition that serves you well. You may have to conserve your energy somewhat as this is your solar low time of the year until December 21. Conserve and preserve is the way to go. Relationship prospects brighten romantically and socially. It is time to broaden and open your world through travel and education, possibly both.

This particular full moon brings epiphanies, conclusions and illumination on concerns that have been ongoing. If you are born around July 2 the influence will be felt strongly. Changes are in the wind. You may be restless and stirred up about something. Mysteries may be revealed, or further concealed. Attractions, possibly dangerous ones should be avoided if you can help it. Endings and beginnings take place along with births and deaths. If you are a heavy duty shark lawyer or mobster, gangster or whatever, then your time has arrived as well. Actors, entertainers, bouncers, weight lifters, and fighters will benefit from this prolonged and powerful visit of Mars to your sign. Gear up, gird your loins and prepare for action. Getting in shape, working out, learning technical skills, and doing research and science are other positive Mars activities.

Saturn completed his two year transit through Virgo in late October. Often we feel the pinch when Saturn is around, as his message is one of scarcity. Now Uranus is still moving through Pisces which is opposite to Virgo and his influence usually is one of instability, change and surprise. In order to accommodate this unsettling influence it is better to flow with it rather than resist whatever changes are coming up. Career changes are probable as are lifestyle changes as well. In reality it is the universal karmic plan coming down exactly the way it is supposed to. Your plan is to stick with the program and lean into what must be done in order to bring order and rhythm in to your life. Jupiter visits your opposite sign Pisces starting in mid January and promises to bring abundance and opportunities your way throughout 2010. Get busy and move towards your goals.

The Moon passes through Libra from December 9 to 11, bringing you into your lunar high of the month. December 9 could be a heavy day and heavier evening if you allow. December 10 is much brighter and December 11 even better. Confidence, energy, and strength all combine and you flow through the days in style, at least your style. The majority of the planets are in harmony with Libra throughout the first three weeks of the month. Artistic expression is strong for the creative and musical types, while all social activities and connections get a boost as well. The end of the month may be more challenging as the full moon lunar eclipse on New Year’s Eve may bring to light certain limitations or fears concerning home, family and work. Your hopes are high and the presence of Saturn keeps everything somehow balanced and not out of proportion. Anything that is out of balance most likely will be addressed in the next two years. Home, property, family, and children all figure into the mix as you head into 2010.

The Moon visits Scorpio on December12 and 13, heightening life’s activities considerably. Saturday December 12 has a great flow to it and the day passes by with hardly a notice. Sunday December 13 has a different tone to it and the morning’s peace may be fragile. Concerns that have not been expressed or voiced may build through the day along with a possible misunderstanding. It may be wise to avoid confrontation until the issues are clear. The natural ruler of Scorpio is Mars and he is in Leo until early June 2010. Leo rules your career sector in the natural solar wheel and indicates that you will be busy and the competition is on. Roll up your sleeves and wade in to the fray. It’s life just the way you like it. Jupiter casts his yearlong blessings your way starting mid January 2010, in the form of business connections, relationships and children’s interests. Go to work and do the Scorpio thing which is to lean in to what has to be done in order to bring success and happiness.

The full Moon on December 1 illuminates the pathway ahead. Revelations come flooding in regarding all aspects of your life. Health, home, career and relationships are in need of attention. The new Moon on December 16 occurs in your sign and is another indicator that changes are in the wind. The new Moon harmonizes with Jupiter and Neptune bringing a string of fortunate developments that lift your spirits. Venus the planet of love, money and creativity is moving through Sagittarius and is in triangle with Mars at the time of the new Moon, bringing excitement, attraction and action your way. In essence, the stars look good for Sagittarius and you can move through the month easily and gracefully, or you can roll up your sleeves and make dynamic things happen. Sincere efforts are rewarded. Effort creates opportunity. The early bird gets the worm and the late worm, well we know what happened to him. Values are changing and a new restlessness takes hold. Go with the flow.

The Sun enters your sign on December 21 as we celebrate the Winter Solstice. We experience the longest night and shortest day and we see evidence the day light is lengthening as we head into January. It is your solar high of the year in which you tend to shine a bit brighter. Venus the love planet enters Capricorn on Christmas day and makes a conjunction with Pluto on December 27 bringing some very interesting energy your way over the holidays. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” is an appropriate slogan for this type of conjunction. Love and devotion deepen, mysteries abound, divorces and separations, births and deaths are all in the mix. The full Moon, Blue Moon lunar eclipse on New Year’s Eve will certainly put the spotlight on what it is all about. Revelations and epiphanies abound while rumors surround. Good old Mercury goes retrograde in your sign on December 27 adding probable delays and confusion into the recipe for the holidays. One prominent Capricorn, Tiger Woods is in the news regarding his accident at the time of this writing and he hasn’t made a statement yet, but from the look of his chart and the planetary activity affecting it, I would say the man is in trouble and will need our love and support to regain his status. The Lunar eclipse on December 1 falls across his Sun indicating important karmic changes coming up for the man. It is a most profound time in the fate and destinies of Capricorn. Stay in the light and go slow in all that you do.

A special conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune takes place in your sign just hours before the Winter solstice on December 21. Those born within a few days of February 14 will receive the lion’s share of what this conjunction is about. Jupiter is King of the Gods and he is known for his visionary gifts of prophesy, generosity and expansive ways, while Neptune connects us to the astral realms of consciousness. It means that some of you Aquarians are about to embark on a profound spiritual journey of discovery. Humanitarian, social and civic activities will draw your attention as well. Some Aquarians will gain great fame and fortune at this time. The only cautionary note is that there is a tendency to overdo things when Jupiter is around and Neptune at times can lead us down the wrong path. It is of utmost importance that you make the best choices that you can regarding healthy and productive lifestyles. Neptune loosens your grip on reality, making it easy to make mistakes. Caution with all substances is needed as this combination can enhance any form of addiction.

The Moon enters Pisces six hours after the Winter Solstice on December 21, bringing you into your lunar high of the month. The solstice heralds the onset of the winter season, a time in which we become more reflective and inward bound. While all of this is going on, Jupiter and Neptune are conjoining in Aquarius which is the twelfth sign from your sign. It tells of a time of openings in your consciousness advancement through intuition, epiphanies, dreams and visions. You may be packing your bags, literally or psychologically as you prepare to embark on new journeys of discovery. Your compassion level is high and you may be in the mood to do what you can to help others out. Stay open and listen to what the universe is saying as it is speaking loudly right now.

Welcome to our new format. I will be publishing this column once a month going forward. I have been writing a weekly column for nearly 12 years and it has become a bit of a drain. But on a monthly basis I can really sink my teeth into each column and give it the time it deserves.

We are coming into very interesting times as we move closer to 2010. The days are dominated by a malevolent square aspect involving Saturn and Pluto. Saturn moves through Libra and Pluto journeys through Capricorn. Libra and Capricorn are both dynamic cardinal signs giving them powerful status, as they lead off the fall and winter seasons.

Cardinal planets have great power and energy, enough to move the world and activate its armies, oppressors, terrorists, protesters, agents, saviors and heroes. Saturn strives to sustain the old tried and true methodologies which become ingrained as the proper and righteous way of conducting our lives. Pluto on the other hand behaves as Lord Shiva and seemingly destroys and rebuilds all old and decrepit structures and societies. Of course this energy plays out across the globe and is very evident in our culture and society.

Saturn and Pluto don’t have great reputations. They are neck and neck when it comes to death, pestilence, disease, poverty and destruction. They are symbolic deities representing karma on all levels of life. Now just before you dive under the bed trembling with fear, know that all life is cyclic and when life on Earth gets out of balance with global warming, wars, poverty and greed then the stars take hold in order to correct and aright the problems. We know that we’re in trouble and major changes are in the wind. We should welcome whatever the universe offers up. When we are under these pressures is when we will be at our most creative, and as we know, “Necessity is the Mother of invention.” Geo-thermal heating, solar panels, wind and sea power generation, electric automobiles, whatever, bring it on and let’s move into the future, and begin to erase the heavy footprint that we have made.

Cancer in all of its forms, the H1N1 virus, AIDS, you name it, we’ve got it. Saturn in Libra hammers out the tune of seeking justice, fairness and balance, while Pluto in Capricorn certainly will put the pressure on within all government agencies and bodies. The shaky political and religious hotspots will become even more so as the forces of light and darkness continue their dance throughout eternity. Yes it may get darker or it may get lighter, but God’s love will prevail and somewhere in our lengthy sojourn we will be resting in his bosom, high above the churning worlds of duality, negativity, poverty and pain.

The full Moon on November 2 will illuminate whatever problems and concerns are going on. Mercury and Mars are in the picture and they are squared off indicating an intense time. A standoff takes place and a war of nerves ensues. Heated and unkind words can cause long festering wounds that are difficult to mend. Fortunately, Venus and Neptune are in a triangle at the same time bringing opportunities for acts of compassion, forgiveness and kindness. As the Sun continues his journey through Scorpio we have the opportunity to resurrect, re-invent and renew ourselves. It is time to shed our skin and rebirth however we can on a personal, spiritual and collective level.

The last quarter square of the Moon on November 9 will enable us to put the finishing touches on whatever projects we have been working on. The LQS is likened to a shakedown cruise in which we get the final kinks and problems solved before we weigh anchor and embark on our voyage. Mercury is involved in this configuration and he is in square with Jupiter and we might want to keep a keen ear for overblown statements or offers of great returns for our dollar. In other words we may get lied to, deceived, hoodwinked and hustled. No new news here, just more of the same of those good ole Earth plane blues. We get to dine on the karma that we have cooked up personally and collectively. Do enjoy and hopefully we learn from the hard lessons offered.

Plots, plans and secret maneuvers are in the works as the Scorpio new Moon on November 16 squares off with Neptune. Things may not be as they appear to be, as often times there will be a hidden agenda and all kinds of scurrying about behind the scenes. Mars, lord of the new Moon approaches an opposition with Jupiter and neither planet is in his best sign according to Vedic tradition. Mars becomes stationary close to the winter solstice and it may very well indicate an intense and dangerous build up within all opposing forces. The line is drawn in the sand and we must all declare where we stand. Scorpio is also the sign of collective power and when needed can be activated quickly.

Although this all seems a bit top heavy with fear, it is not so. It is just my effort to call the cadence of the times and yes, the drum beat is a bit louder and more intense. Mars and Jupiter are the planets of courage, faith and exploration and when we use their energies properly we can move mountains and inspire the human spirit in all kinds of ways.

At the time of the first quarter square of the Moon on November 24 the Sun has commenced his journey through Sagittarius and the Moon is in Pisces bringing lord Jupiter strongly into play. The opposition between Mars and Jupiter continues to build in strength over the next month and they are fiery brothers associated with action, adventure, war, sporting events and all other activities that require strength, agility and bravery. Testosterone levels are on the rise. A very dynamic time is upon us and somehow we must use and accommodate the energy. September 24 – 30, 2009

Sink or swim is the mantra of the times as we head into choppy international waters. All this just in time for the United Nations gatherings in the US . Mercury is stationary on September 29 making this planet very powerful. Mercury rules all communications, negotiations, agreements, commerce, trade, business and education. Saturn and Uranus are involved with Mercury certainly until October 10, bringing very dynamic and powerful changes in their wake. Saturn the old guard, strives to quell any revolutionary energy ( Uranus ) that threatens the safety and security of its people. Mercury hopefully gets people to agree and at least communicate earnestly. The tension is on and we will see how the pendulum swings in the last days of September and into early October.

The first quarter square of the Moon on September 25 might bring its challenges and stresses into play, especially at work and within relationships. You are learning to share and cooperate with others. The Moon opposes Mars on September 27 and the dynamics are in place for heated scenarios to unfold in the early morning. The day gets better as it goes. You might as well get ready now, for big changes are in the wind in the not too distant future. Get with the program and start doing what you really want to do.

September 26 is your day. It could pass by without much notice as that is how we generally experience the easy days. It seems like we do recall the trying and stressful times though. Love, good times, entertainment, children and their concerns may be on your mind. It is time to sort out what is real and worthy of your time. Work and health issues are onboard and must not be ignored. Too much of anything is just as bad as not enough of anything. Too much could be the case now though. Too much work and not enough rest.

The Sun and the Moon harmonize nicely on September 28 as they form a triangle and in turn both the Sun and Moon cast triangular rays into Gemini. In essence, it indicates a time of good returns for less effort and struggle. Lord Mercury is practically stopped in the sky as he turns direct motion on September 29. This seemingly stationary position makes Mercury very powerful and those ruled by him will most likely experience some type of animated Mercurial scenario in the form of letters, calls, journeys, contracts and all matters of communication, education, transportation and business. A busy time has arrived and you must set a pace that you can live with.

Mars continues his journey through your sign until mid October. Mars symbolizes fire, energy, action, anger, courage, heroism, accidents and incidents along with competition, war and exploration. In some way Mars will have his effect on you in accordance with how he is set up, supported or not by the other planets in your birth chart. Some folks undoubtedly will experience the harsh side of Mars in the form of clashes with heated or angry people, or you may display anger yourself. Saturn and Uranus are in the play as well indicating an intense time for all signs as we witness the antics of the world leaders at the UN meetings and other news unfolding. A lot of this material is focused in your career and home sectors of your solar chart and those areas may get a play in the form of job changes, moves etc. A busy and demanding time is upon us.

Life is somehow bittersweet. The Moon passes through Capricorn from September 25 to 27 bringing a plethora of events, some positive and some not so positive. The universe will provide myriad scenarios in which your patience and humility may be tested. The stresses of yesterday can be appraised and appreciated on September 26 as things smooth out a bit. Sunday September 27 could have a rocky start to it and tempers may flare, but things improve as the day progresses.

The Moon visits Aquarius from September 28 to 30 bringing you into your lunar high of the month. Mercury is stationary on September 29 bringing probable communication difficulties to all signs, but you have the best chance of making sense and getting though the concerns without too much sweat. Someone’s misfortune could turn out to be your lucky break. Inheritances and joint monies come into play. Life has been tumultuous with Uranus passing through Pisces over the last several years. Uranus is the planet associated with upheaval, change and revolution. He exits Pisces in February 2011 and no doubt you can look back and note the dynamic and profound changes that have taken place. Uranus has revolutionized you in some way. In March 2011 Neptune enters Pisces. His 14 year visit will spiritualize you and connect you to the higher realms. The fall season gets off to a rocky start as a series of challenging planetary aspects take hold. It will be an intense time and we’ll be hard pressed just to keep up with the demands on our time and pocketbook. Concerns regarding the economy, taxes, health-care, employment, education and politics keep us spinning and spinning. There’s nothing new here, except that a certain edginess and tension is in the air as we work towards resolving our problems and concerns. As the Zen proverb goes, “Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water, after enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.” In other words, we have work to do, problems to solve, issues to resolve and harmony to be sought after.

Thursday September 17:
A powerful day unfolds chock full of surprises and changes. Fear may run through the markets as news regarding the economy may set off a chain of events. The passing of a leader, V.I.P. or admired authority figure could take place. It might be a day in which we weigh up and take stock of what we have and what life is all about.

Friday September 18:
The Virgo new Moon is pregnant and potent. The new Moon represents a new start, a new round of life’s rhythms and activities. Mercury and Saturn sit close to the new Moon while revolutionary Uranus opposes the new Moon grouping. This tells of a time in which anything goes, and it may be a time when we begin our effort to rid ourselves of old outmoded ways of thinking and doing things. The potential for upsets, upheaval and big changes is very strong now. We will witness the fallout worldwide, collectively, privately and personally over the next thirty days.

Saturday September 19:
The Libra Moon squares off with Mars just after dinner setting the stage for lively and exciting times. Moon-Mars energies carry a certain tension with them and it won’t take much to set off a serious debate, confrontation or battle. It might be best to let it rest and bring up your concerns at a more appropriate time. Then again, some folks love nothing more than a good scrum. If so, fill your boots, for the stars are right for any form of fight or flight.

Venus enters Virgo and forms a triangle with Pluto bringing opportunities to refine and revitalize, refresh and renew our efforts to bring peace, harmony, love and abundance our way. It is a good day to weigh up everything and set forth on a journey of cleansing, correcting and healing.

I wish that I could say that it is a lighthearted day, but I must not lead you astray. We have monumental issues that have cropped up and we must deal with them straight away. Don’t get discouraged or disgruntled. With a steady and well thought out approach we can work it out and get on track on time.

Tuesday September 22:
The fall Equinox takes place at 2:19 P.M., PDT. The Sun enters Libra which is the sign of justice, fairness, balance and harmony. That is of course, if there is a balance. If not we will set the course to find it. Battles, lines in the sand, loyalties, double crosses, jousting, bickering, posturing and proselytizing are all in the works as the unending game of political musical chairs continues and intensifies across the globe. We’re in, up to our necks, and it is sink or swim, and swim we must.

Wednesday September 23:
The phone lines and interwebs are crackling, sizzling with activity today as the world seemingly has picked up speed. As you can tell by now, something is up. No big mystery really. It is more about life becoming intensified and somewhat dramatized as we handle the pressing realities that seemingly come in waves. It is an exciting and challenging time and some day we will look back at it as we nod knowingly, that we came through as we always do. The planets are telling of a time in which serious and dynamic changes take place, hard work, commitment and dedication are the ingredients required in order to make the grade.

The Fall Equinox on September 22 heralds your solar low of the year as the Sun passes through your opposite sign Libra. It is time to care, repair and nurture yourself in some way. You may feel run down or out of gas. If so, cut back and take it easy. Most Aries will just shrug it off and keep going anyway, pushing through until they get done what needs to be done. September 18 and 19 are touchy days in which flare-ups can happen easily. Big and constant changes are in the long view forecast for Aries. Best get started now, and in true Aries style, get the jump on the crowd.

Read the Aries message, for although you are not in your solar low, you are coming into a time in which you can heal, nurture and care for yourself. You are bullish when it comes to work, as it is a form of worship for many earthy Taurus types. Often you will push past the pain and ignore it and then pay dearly later. Creative and romantic energies get a boost, all the more reason to take good care.

The Sun casts good rays starting on September 22 as he commences his journey through Libra, which is a friendly sign with Gemini. He basically smoothes over our concerns and problems, often brightening our days with joy and laughter. It still is a bumpy ride, and tensions are riding high especially from September 17 to 25. Set a pace that is livable and stick to it if you can. September 17 and 18 are tricky days in the sense that your above average intuitive ability may be working overtime and may possibly trick you.
