Thursday August 13:
Today’s last quarter square of the Moon will create opportunities in which we can minimize our problems and concerns. Projects that started a few weeks ago will be tested. It’s like a shakedown cruise in which the final adjustments make the vessel seaworthy. Mars and Jupiter form a triangle that will increase our confidence and enthusiasm. It’s a mixed day, chock full of all kinds of unusual occurrences.
Friday August 14:
The tempo picks up as the Moon commences her journey through Gemini early in the morning. The Gemini Moon is excellent for all matters of communication and commerce. The marketplace and the coffee shops will be buzzing. The Sun and Jupiter form an opposition bringing their combined energies of light, laughter and confidence into the mix. Be it politics, money or matters of the heart and spirit, it will be discussed today.
Saturday August 15:
The Gemini Moon continues, and boy is she busy. She connects to seven planets before the day is done. Yesterday held great potential for all kinds of unique events to take place and today the vibe is even stronger. Possibly it will just be us, out there doing our thing and enjoying the balmy summer days. But dinner time could be touchy and mishaps are likely. Otherwise it is a time to celebrate, rejoice and give thanks for our lives.
Sunday August 16:
The Moon enters Cancer early in the morning and promptly forms an opposition with Pluto. This isn’t the nicest way to start the day. Crabby remarks cause sparks and the tears flow if we are not careful and considerate. Actually the Moon is at home while she traverses Cancer and all matters related to home and family become important. Reunions, feasts, weddings and whatever it takes to get the loved ones together are best under the Cancer Moon. The past comes up and we may reminisce and reflect on days gone by.
Monday August 17:
Yesterday’s memories fade fast as reality strikes and out the door you go, coffee cup in one hand, cell phone and car keys in the other. A series of lunar and planetary aspects create quite the mix for us to work through. Mercury and Saturn conjoin bringing on the worries and realities of the work place and the economy. The Sun and Mars cast good energy boosting our confidence and giving us the will to meet the day with the determination and resolve to get things done
Tuesday August 18:
The Moon moves through Leo guaranteeing at least a few displays of histrionics and drama if not gaiety and laughter. Mars and Uranus square off in the early evening and it is a touchy aspect to say the least. Accidents and mishaps, shocks and surprises are the common venue when these two malcontents decide to not get along. The antidote for their energy is to err on the side of caution and pay attention to what you’re doing. Get off the cell phone and drive your car.
Wednesday August 19:
The Moon continues her journey through Leo. She forms an opposition with Jupiter towards evening time heightening feelings of joy and pleasure. The Moon is soothing and Jupiter is healing and the combination sure is good for the soul. It is also good for fun times and high adventure. The Moon opposes Neptune late in the evening which may be excellent for parties and entertainment. It may be one of those nights that just seem to have that special sparkle and magic quality to it. Watch your consumption.

by Mac McLaughlin | Aug 5, 2009 | Weekly Forecasts
We have a busy week ahead, with lots of challenges, hurdles and changes to deal with. Let me break it down for you.
Thursday August 6.
Yesterday’s lunar eclipse will have amped up our emotions in all areas of life, especially in the human welfare department. Today the Moon passes over Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius bringing strong feelings of euphoria, altruism and spiritual healing. Intuition, visions and dreams become important factors in figuring out life’s concerns.
Friday August 7.
The Pisces Moon enhances our emotional receptivity and sensitivity. People tend to talk about their problems when the Moon is in Pisces, and with the Moon opposing Mercury today the phone lines will be burning, texts and emails flying, twitters tweeting and such right off the map. The Moon, Mercury and Venus harmonize in the evening smoothing things out nicely and enhancing all forms of communications. Plus it’s a Friday evening and all entertainment venues will flourish. It is a night to mix and mingle.
Saturday August 8.
The Pisces Moon squares off with Mars and Saturn changing yesterday’s vibe of “easy come, easy go”, to a time of stop and go in which emotions and frustrations overflow. It might be the night to stay home and avoid the potent volatility, especially if it were to be mixed with alcohol or drugs.
Sunday August 9.
Although Sunday is the traditional day of rest, I doubt that this day will pan out that way. The Moon clicks into Aries early in the afternoon and promptly squares off with Pluto. I can imagine the scenarios that will unfold regarding yesterday’s activities. Secrets are revealed and some of them may be shocking.
Monday August 10.
Mars and Saturn square off today. Mars says go, and Saturn says no. Plus the square aspect creates dynamic tension and just like the tectonic plates pushing up against each other, something has to give. Actually giving and remaining flexible is the key for how to deal with the frustrations and anger that may boil up today. A soft reply garners no wrath, while pushing your way through can cause powerful reactions. Riots, demonstrations and such will be witnessed today.
Tuesday August 11.
A much better day comes our way. The Moon forms a series of positive aspects to the planets creating good will and cooperation. I guess it’s the day to go about healing yesterday’s wounds and setting things right in order to heal. The Moon moves into Taurus late in the evening, which is her exaltation sign bringing a steadying and harmonizing effect.
Wednesday August 12.
The Taurus moon continues throughout the day offering opportunities for all kinds of creative and excellent things to happen. The Moon harmonizes with Venus late in the evening bringing warmth, love and affection our way. Of course we can never get enough love, and it is the only commodity that increases when we give it. So go out and give some love, and then give some more love, and when you cannot give any more, just give a bit more and look for no return.

The Moon visits Aries from August 9 to 11 bringing a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows to deal with. The lows come in the way of frustrations, power trips and changes on August 9 and 10, with much better circumstances on August 11. Lord Mars is square with Saturn throughout these days so take your time and try not to blow a fuse. Of course things will get worked out; hopefully you’re not burned out in the process.
August 12 and 13 are important days in which you make a final attempt to sort out the kinks and problems that have accrued in the last few months. It may be time to put it all on the table so to speak. Rewards come for the brave hearts that are willing to bare it all and get on with their lives.
Your need to communicate is strong now, almost to the point that you’re becoming quite anxious about it. August 8 and 9 may have their frustrations and limitations that you will have to bear, all the while striving to maintain your cool. Others may not be so cool and battles may ensue. August 10 doesn’t fare much better and it may be wise to take some time out, let your hair down, cool down and wait for better days.
August 9 and 10 have their challenges that must be met. It may seem like others have a chip on their shoulder, and they may perceive you that way as well. In essence there are myriad opportunities to create harmony or not. Strong challenges, personal and professional are building like giant waves out at sea. You may be edgy already as you anticipate the rest of the summer. Be on your A game and move towards your goals.
Revelations continue to roll in as the Moon moves through your opposite sign Aquarius on August 6. She hooks up with Jupiter and Neptune and the combination may bring on some type of special circumstances. Magical and mystical experiences may be had. August 13 is another important day in which you clear things up in a major way. It is time to put the past away and look to the future.
August 7 and 8 could prove to frustrating days, while August 9 and 10 doesn’t look a whole lot better. It doesn’t mean that the sky is falling, but it just tells us of a time in which your patience may be in short supply. Generally you do not suffer fools gladly, and now, not at all. You have the power to choose how to deal with whatever comes your way. Go easy, take it easy. Forgiveness is the answer.
August 9 and 10 are days in which particular challenges must be met. All signs will feel the pressure of the Mars – Saturn square on August 10 bringing a sense of limitation and frustration. The Moon moves through your opposite sign Aries bringing contrasting and opposing situations and producing opportunities for you to get people to come to an agreement through fairness and justice.
August 7 may prove to be a special day that you won’t soon forget. Plus it’s a Friday and you should do something special as a lively flow is indicated. The next few days may be way different as all signs cope with the limiting and frustrating Mars – Saturn square taking place on August 10.The Moon moves through your opposite sign Taurus on August 12 and 13 bringing a series of events that could prove difficult to deal with. There is an element of confusion in the mix and it may be wise to wait and see how things work out in the last half of August.
Smooth sailings could turn into choppy waters emotionally and literally on August 8, 9, and 10. Mars and Saturn are in square at this time creating limitation and frustration. It will be felt by all signs but in particular Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo. Curb your impatience and allow others to find their way, and hopefully others will allow you the same grace. Yes, strong words no doubt, but necessary in order to inculcate the vibe of this planetary situation.
August 7 is a good day in which a nice flow of energy is experienced. It may be a different energy completely as Lord Saturn and feisty Mars square off on August 10 and along with an Aries Moon there may very well be some fireworks, power trips and varying other frustrating circumstances to contend with.
The Moon joins up with Jupiter and Neptune in your sign on August 6 bringing an uplifting energy your way. The Moon is full, bringing a wave of revelations. It is also a good time to party, connect and socialize. Humanitarian endeavors interest you strongly now and you may not be able to resist signing up and chipping in however you can.
Friday August 7 is your day. The Moon is in Pisces and she is making a series of positive and harmonious connections to the planets that will benefit you in a variety of ways. It is a perfect time to connect with people and socialize. Others find you fascinating and want to get to know you. August 8 is a whole different energy. Possibly Prince Charming turns into a toad or the fairy Princess turns out to be a shrew. It might be best to go slow and easy as the energy on this day is fraught with difficulty, delay and worry if you allow. Mars and Saturn square off on August 10 bringing some type of concern for all signs. August 12 and 13 are much better.

U.S. President Barack Obama is in for some tough days ahead. The full Moon lunar eclipse on August 5 falls right across his Sun line indicating a fateful time for the leader of the free world. The lunar eclipse will affect Obama’s chart for the next six months.
Eclipses are strong karmic indicators and when you’re at the helm of the most powerful nation on the planet we can only imagine the intense and dynamic pressure weighing upon this man. Serious and heavy decisions are made daily with great consequences all the way around. Along with the eclipse cycles we have the planetary transits to consider as well. President Obama has his Mars sitting at 22 degrees of Virgo in his birth chart. Mars is the planet of war and aggression, while Virgo is the sign of analytical deduction and perfection. Mars sits on the cusp of Obama’s eighth house, the house of death and destruction, secrets and planning. Saturn, no friend to Mars, comes along and passes over Obama’s Mars throughout August and early September bringing on a series of very limiting and frustrating circumstances. Transiting Mars and Saturn both affect Mars in Obama’s chart in a way that can only bring more obstruction and frustration in the first two weeks of August.
President Obama is a Leo with Aquarius rising making him congenial, humane, lovable, affable, kind and courteous to one and all. Now the whole world is watching and measuring the strengths and weaknesses of the man and he will be sorely and severely tested in the weeks and months to come. The planet Uranus forms an opposition to Mars in Obama’s chart and it will be at its strength throughout November and December, bringing in the elements of shock and surprise. This means that anything can happen now. Mars – Uranus combinations are likened to nitroglycerin, which we know is highly volatile, explosive and touchy. I am concerned for President Obama’s health and safety. In essence he is walking through a mine field and one lapse in his attention can cause a disaster.
Just about the time that Uranus moves past the exact opposition with Obama’s Mars, he will have to deal with another important solar eclipse which lands on his Saturn in January 2010. Solar eclipses may have an effect that lasts for years in some cases, but certainly at least for one year. The solar eclipse takes place in Obama’s 12th house and this mix of eclipse, Saturn and the 12th house is not a healthy one at all. It represents some type of loss or sacrifice or limited experiences in some way.
Of course, when the fates are riding high we will see this intensity in the charts of others closely connected to this man. Michelle Obama has her Sun degree in the same place as her husband’s Saturn, giving an even stronger message that the times are running heavy for this heavenly couple and for all those that they rule. In my mind they are the modern day King and Queen, and if we think the King Arthur legends were something, we have seen nothing yet. Possibly several hundred years from now children with be reading of this great, wise and wonderful couple that raised the hopes of all oppressed people on the planet. Yes we are running heavy astrological weather and the forecast is cloudy, brooding and sullen. But of course there is a bright silver lining to the dark clouds and soon in the near future we will see where we stand. Certainly 2010 to 2015 will be the proving ground between the forces of light and darkness. Let’s roll.

If there is a sign that does not do well with obstruction, limitation and red tape, it would be Aries. They prefer to get to the point and travel from point A to point B as the crow flies. Now is such a time in which you can move easily, effortlessly and get a lot done in a short time. The best days are July 30 and 31. For the more sensitive Aries types, know that there is magic in the air on these days. It is a time in which illusion has it’s play, confusion too, so take your time. The lunar eclipse on August 5 brings it all home in the form of revelations and realizations of what is to be. The continued presence of Saturn the task master in your sign ensures a time of hard work, duty, dedication and devotion that you may not mind. It’s all natural in Virgo’s mind to be productive and useful. The hard work will pay handsomely in the years to come.
Career activities get a boost throughout August as Lord Venus travels through your solar house of professions. Family activities, problems and concerns regarding loved ones may manifest on July 31, August 1 and August 2. Travel opportunities for work may come up. Creative ventures may pay off. For the Libras born near sunrise, you may experience the birth of a special soul, one that changes the direction of your life. Possibly your life focus and direction is changing anyway for a myriad of different reasons. Go with the flow and fly high. Your life will continue to evolve and change at a high rate of speed n the years to come.
July 30 and 31 are important days and you must pay attention regarding agreements etc. The full Moon lunar eclipse on August 5 brings on activities regarding education, transportation, home and family. Venus casts fine energy your way throughout most of August bringing pleasant and entertaining times. Mercury also brings good energy to the table helping you in all kinds of ways especially with matters of negotiations, contracts and agreements. A battle may be brewing or some type of skirmish as you or others may need to get things off your chest n the first week of August.
July 30 and 31 are power packed days chock full of all kinds of interesting scenarios. Confused issues may surface and heated debates ensue. Keep your swords sheathed unless you really have to use them. You may feel limited or ‘hemmed in’ in some way or circumstance that you will have to work out of by mid August. August 8 is a particularly testy day for your sign and it might be best to stay out of sight, or go out and fight. Then again much planetary support is flowing into your sign and like the lucky Jupitarians you have the knack to turn a potentially negative time into a memorable one that everyone enjoys. August 5 is one of those times.
Important developments are taking place. You may be compelled to make some decisions that could be life changing, such as falling in love, getting married and starting a family. For some Capricorns the opposite energy will prevail and you may seek changes in order to accommodate the ‘new you’ as you sense the ‘old you’ dying off. One way or the other big changes are in store for Capricorn over the next several years. Fortunes may come and go like fleeting clouds on a windy day. Lord Saturn casts fine energy helping you in every way in your effort to make life work properly over the next several months. The summer months are exciting and love and adventure come along.

The Moon passes through Pisces from August 7 to 9 bringing up somewhat of a challenging time, especially on August 8. Tempers may flare and nerves could be jangled a bit. It may be wise to wait for a better time before you make any important decisions. The first two weeks of August carry a fair amount of frustrating energy that will have to be tolerated and coped with. It just might be your workload or lack of work that could be a bother. Plan for the future as Jupiter spends a year in Pisces staring in January 2010 and it holds good promises for your sign. Take your time and continue to move towards your goals.

Karma and astrology are intrinsically interlinked. They go together like hand and glove. Your birth horoscope is a reflection of the karmic condition that you are bringing with you into this incarnation. Every aspect of our lives is written in the stars. Our joys and sorrows, loves and hatreds, wins and losses, good health or illness, poverty or riches are controlled in accordance with the arrangement of the stars at the time of our birth. Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj in his book, The Wheel of Life and Mystery of Death explains it clearly.
Karmas are the most contagious form of invisible diseases to which man has ever been exposed. They are even more galloping, wasting and destructive than the deadliest and most poisonous germs transmitted into the innermost cells of the human system and worm their way most surreptitiously into the blood system. In society, karmas take a firm hold in the shape of a change in view and thought in the so called molders of public opinion. Then they affect the disposition and temper, and afterwards take deep roots in the shape of habits which become “second nature” in man.
To crown all such difficulties, one has to share unwittingly the karmic reactions, even in his own family where he is born and brought up. Thus virtues and vices play an integral role in the formation of culture. In this way, we daily and hourly contract karmas from our surroundings.
The mystics teach us that we have 75% fixed karma and 25% free will. Plus we are free to create better circumstances for the future as we spin the web of destiny by our actions in this life. It is a vast and heady topic to ponder, and again the mystics tell us that the human mind is not capable of understanding the vast implications of karmic law. There are higher planes of existence permeated with love and light, and populated with souls where karma has no rule or influence. One day we will set foot there, once we have cleansed and cleared ourselves of our indebtedness. All souls are destined to return to their source in the ocean of consciousness, high above the physical, astral and casual planes of existence.

The first quarter square of the Moon in your sign takes place on July 28 bringing some type of hurdle to be dealt with. July 29 is a day to get things done, possibly with ease. Make note that Mercury is approaching an opposition with Jupiter and Neptune in the final week of July and it could bring a series of misunderstandings or delays into play. Others may appear a bit flaky and forgetful. Remember that we are all human, vulnerable and prone to mistakes from time to time, and this is one of those times. |
A fair amount of positive energy flows your way bringing opportunities and openings. It is important to look things over and take your time as Mercury opposes Jupiter and Neptune in the final days of July. It means that life is destined to get a little crazy as confusion and distortion have their way. Saying little or nothing is best, as the tendency to blow a gasket and vent some steam could overtake you. The events of July 30 and 31 tell the tale.

Life heats up nicely throughout August and September. All work and no play is just not healthy, and now the stars are right for you to enjoy, play, love and relax. Activities regarding wills and legacies may come up in this last week of July and early August. It may be wise to keep in mind that all things must change and all things must pass. You may reach your summit in a few years time and bask in the limelight of wealth, prestige and power. The opposite effect could be the case where it all crumbles like sandcastles in a rising tide. Much depends on how you have handled power over the years.

It is a strange, strained and possibly wonderful time for your sign. A grand trine takes place on July 27 and its effects bring grace, creativity, joy, love and resources. These good times should be enjoyed. Mercury the planet of communications, business, plans and schedules moves into an opposition with Jupiter and Neptune at the end of the month and it could throw a stick into the spokes. Literal and figurative traffic jams could be the case. Measure twice and cut once is the mantra of the times. Assumptions will not wash, but the facts go far.
The Moon moves through your opposite sign Virgo from July 23 to 25 bringing tension and stress. Although the message seems a bit worrisome, it may be more about your workload, or social commitments and personal obligations that must be met. As my Guru would say, “Do one thing at a time, wholly and souly.” Stay in the present and deal with what is, not what might have been. The instinct to organize and harmonize is strong now. Mercury will oppose Jupiter and Neptune at the end of the month and it may bring its days of confusion or miscommunication and possible delays. It’s no big deal. We just need to apply some patience until we see our way through.

Every moment in time has its own individual quality and tenor according to the arrangement of the stars. You can create a horoscope for any event such as the birth of a puppy, a person or a nation. Once we have set the birth horoscope we can look at the different planetary cycles that will affect that particular horoscope for any given time in the future. We can also go back to any chosen time period in relation to the birth horoscope. As an example let’s take a look at Canada’s birth horoscope drawn up for July 1, 1867.
The big feature in Canada’s horoscope is the triple conjunction of the Sun, Moon and Uranus in the sign Cancer, and well supported by a strong triangle from Jupiter. It tells of a society that is interested in providing care and protection to her own people and all others that she is able to help. With the revolutionary planet Uranus sitting with the Sun and Moon we can expect that Canadians as a whole are open, friendly, unique, possibly a tad unusual, and certainly tolerant of others lifestyles. We won’t follow all of the rules all of the time, and at times we will not bend to the wishes and demands of other less tolerant folks that would like us to get in line and follow behind. We are leaders in the free world and certainly a showcase for other nations to follow.
Now that Pluto has entered Capricorn and will soon be making a series of oppositions to Canada’s Sun, Moon and Uranus from 2010 to 2015, I thought that we might want to take a look back at other times when Pluto was moving over the Sun, Moon and Uranus in Cancer and see what was happening in our country at that time.
Pluto is symbolized as lord Shiva the destroyer in the Hindu trinity. Pluto brings on great wars, destruction, death and rebirth. Pluto is also associated with power and wealth, thus, the term Plutocrats is a reference to the shakers and movers on the planet. We might want to keep in mind the U.S.A. has the Sun, Venus and Jupiter in Cancer in their national birth chart and will be affected by the Pluto transits as well.
Pluto entered Cancer on May 26, 1914 and on June 28, 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austrian – Hungarian throne was assassinated. This event was the spark that ignited World War 1. Things escalated from there and soon Canada cast her hat into the ring, and we can only imagine the great losses and sacrifices that were endured at that time. The years 1915 and 1916 had to be very tough times for the folks here and for those fighting on foreign shores as Saturn also passed through Cancer at that time, which is another signal of hard work, loss and sacrifice. History tells us that Canada became established and respected on the world scene for its contribution and sacrifices in the war effort.
The battle at Vimy Ridge in April 1917 came while Canada had Saturn and Pluto moving through its sign. While the men filled the trenches our women carried on another fight and won the right to vote in September 1917. The years 1918 to 1920 are also very tremendous in our country’s growth and development. In 1921 another huge event took place of a plutonian nature with the discovery of insulin. Pluto rules death and regeneration and is symbolized by a phoenix who out of his own ashes creates a new form. The discovery of insulin has saved countless lives and has given innumerable diabetics the opportunity to live normal lives. Pluto was passing over the Sun in Canada’s chart when insulin was discovered by the two Canadian researchers, Dr. Frederick Grant Banting and Charles Best, and as we know, the rest is history.
We can expect pretty much the same type of energy to manifest from 2010 to 2015 as our Country goes through another great cycle of dying and rebirthing, death and renewal. It does not have to be as grim as the energy nearly one hundred years ago, but we do have our work cut out for us as we wage war with poverty, addiction, corruption, homelessness and the other myriad concerns and problems that are on the cosmic karmic platter. We will get it done and some day in the future a young astrologer will be wagging his tongue as he looks back at the first two decades of the 21st century as he marvels at all that we went through and all that occurred.
For a very long time we have been worried and apprehensive about December 21, 2012, then end of the Mayan calendar. We can apply the energies that I mentioned earlier to this date and come to the realization that we need a new direction and purpose beyond just filling our bellies and pocketbooks. It never was and never will be enough. Now the time has come for humanity to reach deeper within ourselves on a personal and collective level.
The events that take place around the solar eclipse on January 15, 2010 will tell the tale of the times, what must be done and where. Fear is the dragon, while love, patience, compassion and tolerance are the key ingredients to peace on dear old Mother Earth. Many of us profess to love God and if we only knew that God is in everybody and everything in this whole creation, we would never intentionally harm another living thing. We live within the madness that “might and power are right”, and “my gun is bigger than yours.” No wonder we have so many wars. According to the mystics we are fast asleep at the wheel and are basically clueless when it comes to saving our own souls. Stuck fast to the web of our own making and design we cry out for peace and mercy for all of the souls that are suffering, and we are on the way home.

Although the introduction is a bit long winded you might want to take a gander at it, and try to figure out just where you might be in the years 2010 to 2015. Rapid and dynamic changes are building like giant waves out in the middle of the ocean, and they are heading for the shores soon enough. Stay true to yourself and see what the universe has to say, for it will be speaking rather loudly in the near future.

Family activities and concerns dominate the days throughout July and August. Although you may have your fair share of dealing with family, friend and group politics or responsibilities, it is also likely that you will do well as the stars are not too pressing for your sign at this time. Home and career considerations come up.

The Moon passes through Gemini from early evening on July 17 to July 19, just in time for the weekend. Within a few hours of the Moon entering Gemini, Mercury, lord of Gemini enters Leo which is a sign that Gemini generally enjoys. It means that you will be in your element or in the zone. Be it at a party or any type of social event, no doubt you will sparkle and shine. Others pick up on the good vibes and good times can manifest, so do your best and the heck with the rest. Creative energies are strong and you may have a head full of unique ideas.

The solar eclipse on July 21 takes place in the last degree of Cancer indicating that people born near this date may experience some strong fate over the next 12 months. We think of fate as a negative thing, but in reality fate represents all aspects of our lives such as the birth of our children and the families and countries that we are born into. Love and all that is meant to come our way is considered fate. August and September are destined to be hot months. Hint, hint, wink, wink.

Happy birthday to the lion Kings and Queens. The Sun enters Leo on July 22 bringing you into your solar high of the year. The solar eclipse on July 21 in the last degree of Cancer may have an effect for some Leos that are born close to that date. The Moon enters Leo one hour after the solar eclipse carrying the seeds of karma that will come to manifest throughout the month. Although it sounds a tad ominous it may not be that way at all. It may be a busy and lively time in which the time flies by as you hold court and carry on in your usual magnanimous and friendly way.
You may be pensive and moody as the solar eclipse takes place on July 21. Venus and Saturn are in square aspect from Gemini to Virgo indicating a time of considerations regarding recent frustrations and limitations. No big deal. It is just a time of working out the kinks and problems that come up for everybody from time to time. It’s a good time to visit and care for those that may need your love and support.
Friends materialize and along with a heap of social demands on your time, you will be very busy throughout the rest of July and August. With the Sun, Mercury Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Neptune collectively casting good energy into your sign, you can hardly miss. ‘Make hay while the Sun shines’ is a good mantra for the times. You can pretty well create to your heart’s delight. Memories are being made that will last a lifetime.

Your solar career sector gets a boost starting on July 21. Work and home activities dominate the days and you may not mind. Your home could become an activity centre with people coming and going throughout the summer. Lucky breaks could take place regarding real estate. Inheritances and joint monies figure into the times and must be dealt with.
Your travel sector is strongly activated throughout late July and August. Matters of the higher mind, philosophy, education and publishing come into play. A busy summer is predicted and love may not be a stranger. Siblings and matters related to the father somehow figure in. July 18 and 19 are dynamic days in which much is destined to happen.

Those born on or near January 19 may experience some of the effects of the solar eclipse that takes place on July 21. Relationship concerns and considerations may come up in order to be worked out. Capricorn rises at the time of the eclipse bringing your sign into play and possibly bringing important changes in your life. No need to be alarmed as the changes may be welcome and long overdue. It is a time of letting go of the past and building for a new future.
The Sun’s passage through your opposite sign Leo in late July and August signals your solar low of the year. Rest and recreation is what is needed and with lucky Jupiter and cosmic Neptune moving through Aquarius there’s no telling what you will do to get your kicks and thrills. Scaling the highest mountain and diving in the deep blue sea, whatever it is will certainly connect you with your higher self as you seek escape, adventure and freedom. Many Aquarians have hefty intellectual appetites and great imaginations. Now the universe is supplying the available material for your next adventure in consciousness, be it feeding the poor or saving those who are suffering, now is the time to do your thing.
Home and relationships seem to be the focus of your attention, especially from July 18 to 22. It may be a time to face the truth of any situation that you have been avoiding. Make the moves that will initiate a better understanding of any ongoing problems within your family and circle of friends. You may be relieved once you start with the process of letting go of what was in the past, as you embrace a bright and attractive future. Saturn and Uranus have had a very powerful effect on your life and possibly everything has changed. Jupiter, the natural ruler of Pisces will visit Pisces for one year starting in January 2010. He brings healing, freedom and happiness.

The King is dead.
I’m writing this column on July 7 as I watch the memorial services for Michael Jackson. Eclipses have always been associated with the death of powerful Kings. I’m pretty sure that the folks that organized Michael’s Memorial did not know of the full Moon lunar eclipse that takes place on this day. A full Moon in itself is powerful and impactful. All the more so if the full Moon happens to be an eclipse. The tears are flowing and the hearts are swollen as we say goodbye to a cosmic, complex, exceptionally gifted human being as he heads upwards to the finer, lighter and brighter worlds above.
Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, the day of a full Moon. His Moon is in Pisces which is the sign most related to music and especially dance. His Pisces Moon would also make him an exceptionally sensitive human being with a great sense of love and compassion.
The Sun and Pluto were conjunct in Virgo giving him the ability to go into things on a very deep level. His devotion and dedication to perfection is notable. This conjunction also brought him great wealth and great power along with a messianic and mesmeric magnetism that ignited the imaginations of millions of people all over the world. Gemini was rising in the east giving him his sleek, mercurial appearance along with the balance and agility that was hard to match.
Presently there is great speculation as to what caused his death. I have studied his western and eastern (Vedic) charts and in their respective ways they point to a most difficult and trying time in this man’s life. Saturn the planet associated with loss, illness and death was opposite to Michael’s Moon at the time of his departure. Saturn is the lord of his eighth house which is the traditional house of death.
In Vedic Astrology we have planetary time cycles called Dasa’s and Bhukti’s. Michael was running the dasa of Ketu and Bhukti of Rahu. Rahu and Ketu are the north and south nodes of the Moon and the eclipse cycles are related to the nodes and the eclipses represent karma on a collective and individual level.
James Braha, a brilliant Vedic astrologer comments on the dasa of Ketu, in his book Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer. He says, “Out of all the planetary periods that of Ketu is perhaps the most difficult to accurately predict. Ancient Hindu scriptures describe all sorts of miseries, such as poverty, sorrow, humiliation, slanders, poisoning, strange illnesses etc”. Michael has Rahu and Ketu in the 6th and 12th houses of his chart, known as the houses of loss and illness. The stars don’t lie, and they do show the karmic situation collectively and individually for all souls. He had his burdens, faults, failures and weaknesses, but we loved him anyway because deep in his heart he was about love, freedom and happiness. In his way, he carried his cross the best that he could. We love you Michael.

Okay, you have made it to the top of the pile. Now what? Possibly it is time to give back a bit and share the wealth. Speaking of wealth, we have not been generous nor merciful with ourselves and our salvation – too busy climbing that rock. Seek the wealth of spirituality and God’s love and you will feel enriched as never before.
The Jupiter – Neptune conjunction in your sign heralds a rare time in which you may find yourself more compelled than ever to make a spiritual change. You are opening up and waking from a long slumber. And like the bear just out of hibernation you may need to reorient yourself and find your bearings. Seek the treasure that you can take with you into the beyond.
Like Aquarius and Capricorn you may sense strong spiritual changes taking place with or without your cooperation. We just have to surrender to the will of God and do his bidding, not ours. In other words, you have embarked on a journey of discovery with no way back, but only towards the warm and protective embrace of God.
