July 2014

If you notice you’re growing a little extra hair on the back of your hands and that you’re walking on the balls of your feet, don’t worry; it’s just the full Moon effect on July 12. We’re under the Moon’s spell at all times for the Moon rules over our emotions, mind and feelings. The Moon also has rulership over our family connections and all other emotionally based relationships. As we know, we experience a dozen or more full Moons every year and most of them are not that much of a big deal, but life does become more exciting and our emotions do become heightened especially if the full Moon lands on any sensitive points in our personal horoscopes.

If a full Moon lands near your Mars, you can bank on experiencing some type of heightened activity and it does not have to be negative, by any means. On the other hand, if you have been experiencing a lot of tension and repressed anger in a particular area of your life, the lid will likely blow off the pot around full Moon time. It is important to give a five-day timeline with the full Moon energy – two days before the full Moon and two days after it. If Mars, Saturn, Uranus or Pluto accompany the full Moon, again, you might very well anticipate some type of intensification of life’s activities in which you go through a range of emotional challenges and changes.

Mars has figured significantly over the last several months with his long retrograde cycle in Libra, the sign of relationships. Since last fall, we have certainly had our full share of incidents, fires, accidents, wars and other forms of terrorism to dine on. Mars is very associated with anger and lust and it has driven many people over the edge as witnessed by the daily reports about people who have fallen into the deadly traps of lust, anger, greed and ego. Mars still has his hand in the cosmic pie and we are destined to hear all about it as July unfolds her mysteries and misadventures.

The only real way to stave off the intense and fiery Mars energies is to stay safe, play safe and strive to be a good, caring, humane being. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword. Mars is associated with the new Moon on July 26 and the full Moon on July 12. Lay off the gas pedal and be kind to all of God’s creatures.

Aries The mark of a strong man is that of kindness, patience and consideration. The mark of a strong woman is that of compassion, forgiveness and caring. There will be lots of opportunities throughout the month to see what you are made of. You can lash out in anger or choose to make peace where you can.

Taurus As long as we’re living on the Earth plane, the karmic wheel continues to spin. We can forge chains of iron or chains of gold by our thoughts and actions. You have an opportunity to sort out the old indebtedness you have carried with you into this life. Love and compassion will get you through.

Gemini Lord Mercury and Venus, the goddess of love, ethics and morality, are helping you come to terms with what must be done in order to attain peace, happiness and serenity. It seems you have lost your way and now must get yourself back on track and find the balance once again.

Cancer Revelations come flooding in by the light of the full Moon on July 12. No doubt, the days are intense, but you may not mind and might very well attain some success. Give it your all and your best and see what the universe decrees. Timing and good karma work hand in hand now.

Leo Well, I hope you’re ready as things are bound to get hot. The Leo new Moon on July 26 is accompanied by Jupiter and you cannot get much better than that. You can party now and pay later or pay now and play later. Do all that you can in order to realize your dreams.

Virgo You should be busy as a bee. Career activities dominate the days. It is also time to do some internal work, behind the scenes. Money, fame and success will not be enough. You need to nurture your spirit as it needs exercise as well. Extend yourself to help others and you will be fulfilled.

Libra You may breathe a sigh of relief as Mars finishes his lengthy Libra visit at the end of the month. He’s like the nosy relative that likes to stir up trouble. Now, a new form of restlessness begins to gnaw at you. It’s time to seek that which will bring you happiness.

Scorpio Saturn is moving dead slow in the middle of Scorpio this month. He’s a dreary character and often brings disenchantment, detachment and sometimes downright depression. He may also bring fame and success, but the same feeling of disenchantment lingers anyway. Saturn helps point us in a spiritual direction in which true fulfilment may be realized.

Sagittarius Your solar ninth house of travel lights up and it is likely you will be on the road again at the end of the month. There may some disputes and controversies that need to be cleared up before you go, though. Take the high road and soften your replies with kindness and consideration.

Capricorn The full Moon on July 12 takes place in your sign bringing revelations and understanding that were previously hard to come by. You get your answers now and you can move forward once again. Other concerns are brewing and they will show up in the last half of the month providing opportunities to set things right.

Aquarius The new Moon on July 26 signals the start of some down time. Take it and nurture yourself as you are a high roller and probably push yourself too much. It is unlikely you will get a chance to let down as life has a way of stoking the fire and stirring the ashes.

Pisces The instinct to organize yourself and everything around you is strong throughout the month. This is a good time to deal with health issues and other concerns that need attention. Life mellows out in the last half of the month and so should you. Nurture yourself and be aware that love may be close at hand.

June 2014

The Sun’s passage though the sign of Gemini usually hints at a lively and active time of the year. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the god of business, trade and communication. He also rules short journeys, contracts and negotiations. Most of us are hip to the antics that unfold when Mercury decides to back up along the zodiac for a few weeks. He starts to move slowly as the month begins and reverses his direction on June 7. The days preceding the retrograde phase and a few days after it ends must be considered as part of the Mercury retrograde phenomena. In other words, we will experience the Mercury Retrograde material from early June until the first week in July. Life doesn’t stop, nor grind to a halt, but we can experience all kinds of delays and transportation problems along with all sorts of problems related to business, agreements and other assorted disputes. Rather than wring our hands worrying about what will go wrong, we might want to look at it as a time in which we can right the wrongs and set things straight. That’s the whole point of the drill.

We will have myriad opportunities to collaborate and negotiate our way through the complexities we’re faced with in our everyday lives. In the midst of Mercury’s antics, we have other planetary phenomena to address. The full Moon on June 12 will be important, as it brings our emotions into a heightened state, and we will experience the “he said, she said” state of affairs. Venus opposes Saturn on the same day and some affairs will end as will other types of relationships that have questionable foundations. Remember, it’s all an opportunity to sort out the old karmic bonds we carry with us throughout our lifetimes.

Mars is square with Pluto close to the full Moon date adding danger, intrigue, action and drama into the mix. Stay clean and let your works be seen; that’s the remedy for this powerful and potent mix of planetary energy. Honesty and peaceful loving energy is needed. Summer begins on June 21 and it just might be time to hit the beach, let your hair down and allow your troubles to slip away., kindness, patience and caring for one another is truly what is needed.

Aries Lord Mars is still moving very slowly in your opposite sign Libra all month making things touchy and edgy. It won’t take much to upset the apple cart so you will have to be on your best behaviour until this energy passes. In the meantime, you can get a lot accomplished by sheer effort.

Taurus The full Moon on June 12 and the days surrounding it are power packed and profound. You might be doing some soul searching as to where you’re at and where your true values lie. It could be marriage or divorce time and much is on the line. Weighty decisions must be made and dealt with.

Gemini The full Moon on June 12 brings revelations and realizations about many things, especially matters of the heart. Lord Mercury retrogrades most of the month bringing opportunities to reconsider what is what. In true Gemini fashion, you may be of two minds about everything. Things take on a brighter perspective in late June and July.

Cancer Intense and dynamic energy continues to flow and it would be worthy to utilize it with the best of your ability. Promote yourself, get out there and mix and mingle. Jupiter is in your sign and you come across as receptive and believable; others get that you are trustworthy, accountable and talented. It’s up to you now.

Leo It’s all about behind-the-scenes preparation. If you want to achieve something great, now is the time to do the groundwork and make ready for Jupiter’s visit to Leo from July 18, 2014 to August 15, 2015. Jupiter brings blessings and abundance especially for those that truly work for it. Go for the gusto.

Virgo Read Leo and think ahead, as Jupiter will visit Virgo from mid-August 2015 to early September 2016. Once you’ve made your plan, get to it, stick to it and you will surely experience some success. Career opportunities present themselves in late June and most of July. Staying steady on the case is best.

Libra I don’t imagine you have been bored recently. If anything, you have probably been very busy with all kinds of commitments and obligations along with a series of sudden or unplanned tasks that had to be dealt with. It’s not over yet, as June will be a demanding and active time as well.

Scorpio Resources are a big key as the month of June unfolds. Earning potential, inheritances and shared monies are big topics now. The full Moon on June 12 will help you see your true state of affairs. It might be time to rethink your strategy. Travel potential presents itself towards the end of the month.

Sagittarius The full Moon on June 12 takes place in your sign casting light and understanding on your present concerns and objectives. You may have to thread your way carefully in regard to communications and negotiations. Take a break and rest up if you can. You may be a bit frazzled with the amount of obligations on board.

Capricorn Cappy’s are known to be relentless in attaining their objectives. You may very well be successful, but it can be lonely at the top especially if you have mishandled people on the way up. Be a team player and give due respect all the way around. Abuse power and a big backlash takes place.

Aquarius You get a free pass and are left to your own devices. I suppose that can be good if you utilize your time properly. You’re not totally off the hook though. You still have career choices and objectives to deal with. Romantic and social energies intensify and you may be a bit distracted.

Pisces Mercury and Neptune triangulate in the first half of June providing you with an opportunity to utilize your highly creative imagination. Lord Jupiter casts a fine ray giving you all kinds of opportunities to carve out your path and put your life together the way you would like it to be.

May 2014

The planetary gods are all stirred up, fussing and fighting over all kinds of stuff. Apparently, they run the show and dish out whatever is to come our way karma-wise. We know that Mars has much to do with anger, aggression, war, fire, accidents and incidents. He has centre-stage throughout the springtime and we will hear from him through many acts of disruption, chaos and calamity. It is not the time to shrivel up and slink away, but it is time to face the concerns of the day. On the positive side of the coin, Mars rules over all heroic acts of bravery and valour. He’s moving dead-slow throughout the month as he retrogrades until May 20 and begins to move forward once again. While he is moving slowly, he has more power and if he connects to any sensitive places in our charts we get a play or some type of drama manifesting in our lives. It doesn’t have to be anywhere near as intense as to what I’m portraying in this column, but it would serve us well to be keenly aware of the potential concerns with Mars on board. We might want to abide by the saying, “A wise man rules his stars and a fool follows them.” Forewarned is forearmed is another adage that suits the needs of the times.

I have studied the Royal Family’s charts for decades and a time has come in which Prince William and Princess Kate are very much affected by this Mars phenomena. Let us pray they come through this time unscathed, unharmed and safe and sound. The situation in Ukraine doesn’t look good and the other trouble spots on the Earth no doubt will be disturbed and disrupted. What to do? How do we handle this powerful energy visiting us from the planets? We play safe, stay safe and in bounds and exercise caution in all that we do. No sense looking down the pipe of the gas tank with a lit match or smoking a cigarette while filling your tank. Using common sense is the key to safety in these shaky times. Love, kindness, patience and caring for one another is truly what is needed.

Aries

You thrive on excitement, thrills, spills and danger. You’re a Mars type and he is now moving slowly through your opposite sign, Libra, providing all the action you can handle. If the above commentary is not really your thing, you may find certain challenges have come up that you must work on anyway.

Taurus

The solar eclipse at the end of April and the full Moon on May 14 both affect your sign strongly. It doesn’t have to mean anything too negative, but you might see where you are limited or held back in some way. Changes are in the wind and once you make them relief comes your way.

Gemini Fortunately, you are a dual sign and multi-talented and if anyone can multi-task, it has to be Gemini. You will need this ability throughout May. You will be dealing with the past and the future, settling past accounts and preparing for a very busy future that is fast approaching.

Cancer

It is not the time to look for results, abundance or success. Those things will come in their own time, but at this time you must give your all to whatever you are doing or desire to accomplish. Alliances, friendships and solid connections will help you along. Your timing may be exceptionally good.

Leo

Career and home life are featured throughout the month. Abundant times are just up the road a bit. Use this time wisely by preparing for the future. Situations are ending and you may lose someone you care for or admire. Life is changing and you must change with it. Soon, the days will be bright again.

Virgo

It’s your time to shine. You kind of get a free pass and you can lay back and enjoy the times or do the Virgo thing, which is to work hard and perfect all areas of your life. Education, travel and spirituality are big keys now. Business, publishing and writing are featured topics as well.

Libra

Peaceful, loving, sweet and kind are familiar words associated with fair-minded Libra. Now, you may have to fight to attain all those wonderful, cherished qualities. As John Lennon once said, “The peacemakers are warriors and the warriors are peacemakers.” Many a famous general or leader has come under the stars of Libra.

Scorpio

The full Moon on May 14 takes place in your sign bringing illumination and understanding to many facets of your life. Saturn is involved with the lunation and he will help point out what must be done in order to attain harmony and balance. It’s time to shed what is old and no longer useful.

Sagittarius

Relationships are of key interest throughout the month. Negotiations of all sorts take place. Joint monies and inheritances may also be topics to be dealt with. It is probable you are thirsting for something deeper and more meaningful and now is the time to do some deep research and probing of the depths.

Capricorn

Court battles are likely to go your way as powerful types lend help and support. Romantic energies sprout up out of the fresh spring soil. Career opportunities pop up as well. All kinds of changes are in the wind and you must learn to fly and align with all the changes that are taking place.

Aquarius

Career and home topics are heating up as the summer approaches. Travel, education and all sorts of promotional activities take up your time and energy now. Soon, you will have plenty on your platter to ponder. Get real and move towards what you truly desire. A big relationship could be in the works.

Pisces Your solar money house may hold a surprise for you and you might be the one holding that $50 million-dollar ticket. Your solar house of inheritances is activated strongly as well. It’s not just about money, but what you truly deserve may come your way now. Writing, publishing and travel are featured as well.

April 2014

Intense times are on-board at home and afar. A cardinal Grand Cross is taking shape and will be in effect throughout the last half of April, all of May and the first half of June. Even then, the planets stay red hot and will not cool down for some time to come. Let’s break it down. The cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn lead off the seasons. They carry great power and energy, especially when visited by the planets. Now, Mars is retrograding in Libra, moving much slower than normal giving him more power and status to wield his fiery sword. In the opposite sign, Aries, we have the provocative and unpredictable planet Uranus and this nice little mix of planetary energy can very well spell upsets, explosions, attacks and war.

Libra is the sign of peace or war and Aries is a very war-like sign. We either get it right or fight for what is right. Adding to the mix, we have Jupiter moving through Cancer and Pluto moving in opposition to him in Capricorn. This is bound to bring all kinds of political intrigue, maneuvering and jousting for position. Religion and politics are the two age-old topics guaranteed to set off all kinds of conflicts, justified or not. Interestingly, these four planets are all forming 90-degree aspects to one another forming a volatile and very dangerous Cross. Fate, destiny and karma come into the play in the form of our world leaders acting out their bit parts on the international stage. Vladimir Putin’s Sun is directly aligned with the Grand Cross, as is former President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych’s Mars. The US and Canada’s Sun degree is also aligned with the Grand Cross. All this while our illustrious leader Stephen Harper experiences a solar eclipse on his Sun indicating a most dramatic year of unrest and stress that most likely will have its effect on Canada and its people.

I guess these troubling times arise in their due course through the ages in order to sort through the karmic indebtedness we accrue as we move through the incarnations. On the positive side, we have a chance to right the wrongs and help bring order and peace to the souls. We are one people on one planet and it might be in these times of strife that we truly get this message. We all deserve love, peace, freedom and happiness and now we will have to do what we must do to make it so. Big changes are in the wind.

Aries (March 21 – April 19) Generally, Aries is depicted as the knight that jumps on his charger and goes off in all directions at the same time. Now, you must choose a definite direction and stay the course. Fear not; the stars will help guide you along the way. Stay true to yourself and don’t sell out – no matter what.

Taurus (April 20 – May 21) Life is changing on a grand scale. Of course, Taurus really doesn’t like change all that much. They would prefer to stay on familiar ground. Well, that’s not going to work now. Everything is strange and there is much to be rearranged. Go with it and you will land exactly where you are destined to be.

Gemini (May 22 – June 20) While Taurus finds changes abhorrent, Gemini thrives on them. Mid-April offers all kinds of very unique developments and you can choose the pathway that best suits your needs, wants and desires. It may not be a cakewalk and while there is a bit of drama, danger and intrigue involved, you might not mind.

Cancer (June 21 – July22) Cancer is not a passive sign. If anything, Cancerians have great passion and tenacity for any particular thing. Now, it is your time to do your thing. Reach for the gold ring if that is what you truly desire. Strike while the iron is hot; it is red-hot now. Don’t go overboard though.

Leo 23 – August 22) Best get ready for a very hot summer. If it’s not hot, it soon will be. Travel, foreign affairs and affairs of the heart may take place. The main point is that you can truly step up your game and achieve outstanding position and recognition. Don’t wait; don’t hesitate. Start now on your journey of discovery.

Virgo 22) Life is good; life is sweet. Your solar chart is indicating great opportunities to set yourself up in a very good way. Like attracts like. People with integrity, honour and similar values come into your life now. Relationships feature strongly and, of course, we receive what we put out. Move towards the light.

Libra (September 23 – October 22) Libra is very involved in the Grand Cross taking shape throughout April. Throw in a Libra full Moon lunar eclipse mid-month and we have a recipe for action and drama. It may be a truly exciting time in which you truly shine or wake up with a shiner. Deep and meaningful communications and negotiations take place.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21) The Phoenix creates itself a new life form out of the ashes of its old self. The spring season indicates powerful and dramatic changes for Scorpio. Co-rulers Mars and Pluto are very involved in the dynamic cardinal Cross taking shape throughout April bringing on the instinct for deep internal growth and change.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21) Lord Jupiter forms an opposition with Pluto in your solar money houses this spring. Money may bring a sense of security and satisfaction, but my bet is you will be feeling restless and seeking a deeper and more meaningful fulfillment. A transformative process is taking place and a new you is birthing along with it.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19) Capricorn is one of the signs caught up in the dynamic cardinal Cross taking shape in April. It tells of a time of profound changes. With Lord Saturn retrograding in Scorpio, it is probable you will be rethinking and re-evaluating your value system. Dying and rebirthing is taking place.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 19) A busy and very involved springtime takes place. Journeys long and short manifest now. Academia, publishing and writing figure into the mix. So does time with friends and family members. Career opportunities present themselves. Some of the decisions that will have to be made may not be easy, but they are very worthwhile.

Pisces (February 20 – March 20) Venus, the planet of personal love, affection and creativity, travels through Pisces nearly all of April. Venus is associated with resources and artistic expression. As well, Saturn and Jupiter are casting supportive glances your way bringing stability and good timing. It means you should be very pro-active as you move towards your goals and aspirations.

March 2014

Karma drives the wheel of life and is symbolized by a boomerang that inevitably returns home to the sender. A seeker once asked the great spiritual Master, Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, if there was such a thing as national karma. The answer was yes: “The cumulative reaction of karmic debt of nations results in wars, epidemics, destruction by fire or floods, etc.” In his treasure house of a book entitled Spiritual Elixir (a compilation of correspondence to his initiates), he tells us, “Natural calamities, like floods, famines, earthquakes and epidemics, like all other ills are the result, more or less of man’s ignorance of the laws of nature, his incapacity to foresee things and implement measures necessary to eliminate the threatened disasters. With the progressive advancement in scientific knowledge and technological skill, Man is gradually coming to his own, pressing the forces of nature more and more to the service of his kind, and making the most of the potential energy lying hidden and untapped. This is how the law of karma works silently and unnoticed, but inexorably to the good or ill as the case may be.”

We might want to apply that wisdom to the upcoming problems and decisions that will have to be made regarding the pipelines and shipment of oil through our sacred waterways and lands. According to our national horoscope drawn up for July 1, 1867, we are experiencing Pluto moving opposite to our Sun throughout 2014, indicating a time of great unrest, subterfuge, power plays and every other kind of secret manoeuvre that will have a profound effect on our society. Pluto represents breakdown and decay, hidden agendas, wealth and power or the abuse of power, big-time. More scandals will come to light that will rock the government and its people.

We start the astrological new year on March 20; at that time, Jupiter, the great benefactor, sits very close to our Sun indicating good will, harmony and lucky breaks. We are the fortunate ones to be living in this sacred land we call Canada – a land peopled with wise, compassionate, fair-minded souls. If we bump the calendar up 50 or 100 years and read the headlines of the times, we’ll find other problems that plague society. Go back 100 years and we’ll see that people had problems then as well. One thousand years either way and it will be the same. It is the name of the game on dear old planet Earth.

Aries Some like it hot and others not. Well, like it or not, life is going to heat up in the springtime. Be prepared. Don your helmet and shoulder pads and gird your loins. Get ready to do battle. Possibly, the battle is with your internal self, in which a new you emerges from the fray.

Taurus

The time has come to take stock of where you’re at and where you would truly like to be. You may be restless and, like the bull, banging around in the bullpen. Your heart may be heavy and it is likely that some problems have built up that you haven’t been able to shake off.

Gemini

You may have to have a little talk with your other half. No, not your partner, but the other twin. There may be some ambiguity or confusion as to how you should go as the month of March begins. It is likely the road with smooth out and you will find your way.

Cancer

Beneficent Lord Jupiter continues to cast his blessings your way although you may not feel too blessed with the amount of challenges and changes taking place. Ride them out and keep throwing out what is not real, worthy, truthful or honourable. By this act alone, truth, justice and fairness will come your way.

Leo

It may be time for some deep soul searching as to what is truly valid, meaningful and real. Possibly, it’s time for a spirit quest, in which you set about to find yourself once again. Saying goodbye is never easy, but it is time to put many things to rest and seek out what is best.

Virgo

Generally, you have it together; that, nobody can deny. Now a time has come in which you may not have it all together. Although it might be a blow to your ego, it may help you to know that you are human and like the rest of us can make mistakes. It’s all good.

Libra

Read Virgo as the message applies to Libra. With mighty Mars backing through your sign, you may feel slightly bruised, used and abused as you head into springtime. You’re plenty tough and resilient though and you will have to use your Libran charm and wit to sidestep the sucker punches that may come your way.

Scorpio

A deep wisdom is being carved into your soul as Saturn visits your sign. What Saturn does bring to the table, however, will be of continued value throughout your life. Losses and sacrifices are experienced when he’s around and there’s often not much left when he leaves. Sobering, yes, but priceless as well.

Sagittarius

Oftentimes, Sagittarius is able to see the writing on the wall long before everyone else. Possibly, you can see it now and it is telling you to get a move on and make your moves while you can. Another year from now the story changes and the present opportunities may evaporate into thin air.

Capricorn

When the going gets tough, the Cappy’s get going. This is a very dynamic time in which much is on the line. A rebirth may take place and your old world may be coming apart at the seams. Let it go and get on with what the universe provides for you, for provide it will.

Aquarius

Venus brings her blessings your way throughout the month. We associate her with love, affection, creativity and beauty. She may bring all those gifts your way or she may take them away, helping you to seek on a deeper level in which you inculcate a deep and profound sense of self-worth, worthiness, truth and honour.

Pisces It’s your time to shine as the Sun moves through your sign until March 20. Pay attention to your dreams around this date as Mercury and Neptune meet up in your sign bringing powerful psychic experiences along with an enhanced intuitive ability. Listen to your inner voice as it is speaking rather loudly now.

February 2014

The Aquarius new Moon takes place on January 30. It contains the seed potential destined to unfold as we head into February. Aquarius is known as the sign representing humanitarian love and caring, depicted by a god with an urn on his shoulder. Many are led to believe that water is flowing out of the urn, but actually it is knowledge and wisdom. The keywords representing Aquarius are “I know” and those born under the stars of Aquarius are gifted with great intelligence and an instinct to care for others. They have been given the gift of impersonal love. We might want to take a peek deep into our hearts to see how we measure up to the Aquarian standards of humanitarian love. Love is innate in every heart. Even the meanest and baddest people in our midst will respond to love and kindness. Often, what seems to be missing is the ability to give love to our selves.

Being a fixed air sign, Aquarius can be very stubborn and obstinate in its ways. Speaking of love, Valentine’s Day on February 14 also happens to be a full Moon day, which will serve to heighten our emotions and affections. For those that are single and pining for someone special to enter their lives, this is certainly the time to express those feelings of love and affection. On a deeper level, the love we seek from other people is already wired into our hearts and when the karma gods bring two souls together, we are elated and over the moon in love. Remember the heartthrob you went to high school with, but nothing ever happened between you? That is because you had no karma to work out together in this lifetime. The people we do fall in love with have been travelling with us for countless lifetimes.

We westerners think of karma as negative indebtedness, but karma also represents love, service and devotion. When we meet that special person, we have those uncanny feelings of knowing that person deeply although we don’t know how we know them in that way. When the karma is complete, we move on to the next stage set for our growth and development. If the karma is not cleared up, we may jump the fence thinking the grass is greener on the other side only to find ourselves eating the same grass again. As we know, it takes a prince to win a princess and sometimes we have to kiss a lot of toads before we meet the true prince.

Aries You may feel like you were shot out of a cannon and will hit the net in a couple of years. It’s true; you’re on the move and travelling through space at an incredible rate of speed. Fear not; you will land on your hooves, no doubt. Go with it and strive to be original.

Taurus It may be time to reinvent yourself, which is no easy task for your sign. Taurus likes what they like and will never like what they don’t like. But now you are in a time in which flexibility will assist you in becoming successful. Resistance to change will only make your life more difficult.

Gemini

Blow the dust off that journal and start recording your thoughts, dreams and conversations, as February is destined to be a very mixed bag of cosmic forces you must contend with. Death, taxes and health are just a few topics on the menu. Travel and spirituality are big keys now as well.

Cancer

Big cosmic forces are at play. You will serve yourself well by striving for the best. Jupiter continues to pour his benevolent energy into your sign. You can party and have a good time or make hay while the sun shines. My hint is to find the balance in all things and give of yourself generously.

Leo

The Moon lands in your sign on Valentine’s Day. Leo rules the heart and ofttimes Leo does have a big heart. Have heart and take time to rest and repair. Stresses can be high throughout the month. Strive for clarity and honesty in your communications and dealings, as misunderstandings can take place easily.

Virgo

Lord Mercury, aka the trickster, hooks up with Neptune, the planet of illusion and confusion. Basically, it means nothing is real and everything is surreal. The antidote for this cosmic combination is to speak the truth, live honourably and triple-check that you are on the same page with coworkers, friends and family members.

Libra

As the month begins, take some time to figure out what you want or don’t want in your life any longer. The cosmic dance is quite profound and a lot of energy is pouring into Libra. Use it wisely to help you in making the decisions that will bring the scales to balance.

Scorpio

Now is the time to enter into the deep inner sanctum of your spirit. You may find the dragon you fear the most is not even real, but the fear itself can be very real. Raking over the past won’t help much and the future is spotless. Purify, simplify and free yourself up.

Sagittarius

Money and health are general topics for all signs, but they now loom even more meaningfully in your life. Keep in mind that every hair on your head has been counted as well as every breath and what is meant to be yours will be. Not a penny less or more. Relax and nurture your spirit.

Capricorn

A time of reassessment is at hand. Let go and let God is the way to go. Others may go out of your life now or you may leave the scene. Whatever the case, big changes are in the wind. Fear not and, if anything, dance with and accommodate what the universe brings your way.

Aquarius

The New Moon on January 30 heralds a time of important changes. Whatever is on the cosmic agenda, you most likely will understand it by the light of the full Moon on February 14. You may have to re-invent yourself in some way. Confusion has its cause and costs. You must find the answers.

Pisces Mercury and Neptune mix it up in your sign in the first half of February. Things may get cloudy for a while and it could stress you out. My hint is to not be too concerned. Honesty, patience and quiet persistence will work wonders. Your dream world will be very fertile, telling and prophetic.

January 2014

The much-dreaded Saturn – natural ruler of Capricorn and Aquarius – holds cosmic court over the next two months. Saturn rules the New Moon on January 1 and we best get a handle on what this stern, paternal/maternal guide is all about. Saturn is feared because he is associated with death, discipline, restriction, poverty and disease. Look back to a time in your life when you went through some type of hardship or loss and, guaranteed, Saturn will be in the play. Although we tend to vilify him, he is very much part of the karmic planetary scheme. As Shakespeare so aptly put it, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings.”

The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are in the mix with this new Moon energy and it has caused me to raise an eyebrow as to what the significance of this starry mix is all about. Will it mean trouble? No doubt it will. Should we be worried? Yes, if we are predisposed to worrying. Worrying won’t make our problems go away though. Here’s a scenario that may help us have clearer insight into what this planet is all about: When a Mom approaches the crosswalk with her kids, she emphatically warns them of the dangers involved in crossing the street. She might even yell at them in order to convey her seriousness less they dart out into the traffic. The kids may not like it, but they’ll remember it always.

Government, education and justice systems are ruled by Saturn. We are in troubling times and obviously there are myriad complex problems to work through. Yet today’s worries will be replaced with another set of concerns as time marches on. Unrest, wars, revolutions, corruption, pollution, poverty and all the other things we drone on about are on the cosmic menu.

Let’s take Saturn’s symbolism to a deeper level. Saturn carries a sickle so we can cut away from those things that bring us pain and disease. Although Saturn is not a pleasant character to deal with, once you pass his stringent laws and restrictions, you will experience freedom, health and peace. He is Father Time and when we disobey his stringent laws, we pay in the form of disease and suffering. Like Saturday’s child, we must work hard and within the laws of nature. Once we do, we are set free. Although his energy is quite sobering, the lessons we garner through Saturn will carve a deep and sagacious wisdom into our souls.

Aries The trail-blazing pathway you carve out will be trod by many souls in the future. If you’re not sure which way to go, or how to go, just be true to yourself, live honourably and follow your instincts. Your past life experiences will kick in and you will be well on your way.

Taurus Although you may get what you want by your sheer will and persistence, will it be enough and will it truly make you happy? My bet is that it won’t. You may be appeased for a while, but not wholly satisfied. Seek, search, pray and meditate for God’s love, which is non-perishable and eternal.

Gemini One thousand books read, countless academic degrees attained and still no peace of mind. You are sharp, witty and connected to all kinds of people, yet still no peace. I have found there is a deep well of spirituality in the Gemini soul and it must be nurtured and fed and peace will come.

Cancer A great planetary focus is taking place. You must do your best in order to capitalize on it. Material acquisition won’t cut it; neither will any other form of ego aggrandizement. Only God’s love will do. Seek it, yearn for it, pray for it and while you’re at it, what’s meant to be yours will manifest.

Leo Oh, spiritual warrior, where art thou? Hopefully, you’re not counting your dollars and dimes, nor pondering your past attainments. You have a much higher calling. Move forward brave heart and commence your search for the divine. Show us and lead us with your golden ray of the Sun. Strike while the iron is hot.

Virgo At some point in your life, you must lay down the question and answer format. The intellect can only get you so far and no farther. A divine time has arrived in which faith and devotion will bring you to new heights, beyond your wildest imagination. Purify and perfect your inner self.

Libra Make war, not peace. Mars, which is totally antithetical to Libra, spends the next several months in your sign. By war, I’m not talking violence. It’s about the internal struggle for freedom, balance and spiritual harmony. Take up your lance and shield, slay the ego and attachment to worldly desires and peace will come.

Scorpio Read the introduction regarding Saturn for he is the main planetary energy affecting you throughout 2014. You can only sweep the dirt under the carpet for so long until eventually you stumble over it. You have the power, grit, wisdom and determination to put it all together and now is the time to do so.

Sagittarius Have you had enough yet? Life got you down a bit. Maybe another vacation will do, probably not. You cannot escape yourself, no matter where you go. The only way to go is up. You’ve attained the heights before; otherwise you couldn’t be a Sagittarius. Let go, let God and you will find the way.

Capricorn A most powerful and profound time has arrived and you must capitalize on it. That’s what you are most capable of, isn’t it? Climb the internal mountain, which is the most worthy effort and the great boon of your human birth. Otherwise, you have wasted your time and must come around again.

Aquarius We don’t hear this very often, but Aquarius is a very mystical sign. You have a most precious jewel between and behind the two eyebrows and so far you have ignored its pristine beauty and value. Start now and don’t look back. Pray for guidance and as surely as the Sun rises, it will come.

Pisces You’ve come a long way in your spiritual journey and now things are destined to become very interesting. Remember that exercise in which you fall back into the arms of your trusting friends? Now you can fall back into the strong arms of the Lord and for sure he will not fail to catch you

December 2013

The Sagittarius new Moon takes place on December 2. The new Moon is best depicted as a seed bursting forth its power and potential in the waxing phase of the lunar cycle. Let’s take a look at the symbolism connected to this very dynamic sign. The pictograph of a Centaur pointing an arrow heavenward carries the implication of the transition from animal to spirit. Overcoming the downward pull of the senses and redirecting our attention to the higher realms of truth and spirit is what Sagittarius is all about. A deep longing for righteousness and purity manifests through this sign. Jupiter, king of the gods, rules Sagittarius. The souls born under the stars of Sagittarius often attain great heights and become giants in their spheres of influence. The Jupiter / Sagittarius energy spikes us onwards and upwards as we sort out where we’re truly at in the cosmic sphere of things. Perhaps we’re lacking in our efforts to do better. We know how easy it is to become distracted, derailed and put off our game. The archer is pointing his arrow heavenward representing his desire to reach the higher realms.

According to the true mystics, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva created the system of stars and universes and all that they imply. The karma we carry with us throughout the incarnations manifests to us via the planets and how they are situated in our birth charts. When the stars and planets are in right alignment, in accordance to our karmic slate, we are birthed in order to work with what we are bringing into this life. When the great mystic Kabir stepped onto the Earth, he saw that no one was happy with their lot. We may grow restless, discontent and dissatisfied with our Earth life. Those that enjoy the wealth and riches and those that exist in poverty may know that their situations are temporary and transitory. In one life, the guard stands in the snowstorm protecting his King. In another life, he is the King and the former King is the guard standing duty.

Things are not as they seem and we’re here for a short while and in the blink of an eye we’re gone. Now is the time to make amends and to make vows to work towards your true emancipation and freedom. We are love and we are light and we have been given the great boon of human birth. The Sagittarius stars are prompting us to reach for the higher realties. We come from a place high above the stars; one day for sure we will meet there and rejoice.

Aries Aries, you have the power and potential to break through any type of barrier. Great changes have already arrived for those born in the first week of Aries. You must use your ability to adapt and make changes where necessary. Stay true to yourself and allow the universe to set things right –and it will.

Taurus A deep, prevailing wisdom has been carved into your soul in the last year or so. Births and deaths, limitations and restrictions have taken place. Duty, diapers and responsibilities dominate your days and you may not mind. There are more opportunities for stability and growth. Chop wood and carry water as the old saying goes.

Gemini The full Moon on December 17 takes place in your sign bringing epiphanies. The Sun moves through your opposite sign Sagittarius signalling a time in which you can let down and relax a bit, or at least you should consider doing so. It’s the right time to sort out relationship issues as well.

Cancer Sun sign columns are generalized and one shoe doesn’t fit all. Generalized or not, if I were a Cancer and knew what I knew about planetary influences, I would be on the move and very pro-active about getting myself together in every way. Opportunities for growth, expansion, love and happiness are close at hand.

Leo The summer of 2014 to the summer 2015 is where you want to get to. The long view looks good if you play your cards right. Think big and think long-term and get working on your plan to make it all happen. Although driven at times, Leo can be quite lazy, just like my cat.

Virgo Man does not live by bread alone. His soul needs nurturing as well. You are pragmatic and grounded in your logic, no doubt. But along comes Neptune in your opposite sign Pisces casting his glance your way for at least the next decade. He opens you up to all kinds of new realties and spiritual possibilities.

Libra ‘Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” Hopefully, that is the way Christmas will pass. A powerful planetary aspect unfolds at Christmas time and it can indicate a lively time or a time of accidents, fires and clashes of wills or egos. Go easy.

Scorpio Saturn continues to make his way through Scorpio. Generally, Saturn teaches us to live with less. Scorpio deeply appreciates a rhythmic order of things. This powerful transit of Saturn will help you put your life together in a healthy, balanced way. It is a challenging time in which you gain wisdom and experience.

Sagittarius Lord Jupiter moves through your solar eighth house bringing matters of inheritance into play. Plus, the Sagittarius new Moon on December 2 indicates a new start. The full Moon on December 17 will illuminate the pathway ahead. Your desire to get to the deeper truths may have you searching and seeking.

Capricorn A cardinal grand cross takes shape over the holidays. Your sign is very much a part of it and you can expect great changes to come into play as the New Year begins. The planetary aspects are a bit hairy and it may be wise to stay to the side of caution and safety.

Aquarius Saturn’s position may keep you in check, as you find ways to work with the powers that be, such as judges, bosses, parents, teachers and others that have some say and sway in your life. Writing and research are featured. Sink your teeth into a hefty topic or two, giving that powerful mind something to do.

Pisces Jupiter casts a nice energy into your sign for several months. In general, it would be good to step up your game and move towards your goals. Saturn also casts a good ray your way bringing order and stability. Neptune will work to connect to the higher realities concerning spiritual life, devotion and service to others.

November 2013

The Moon blocks the light of the Sun during the solar eclipse on November 3. Eclipses generally bring on a sense of foreboding, but the only time I would be concerned about an eclipse is when the eclipse touches an important point in our horoscope. The Sun, Moon and planets convey the karmic energy on-board at any given time. Eclipses are known to release all kinds of important karmic ramifications collectively and personally. From the western astrological perspective, the eclipse takes place in Scorpio bringing all types of Scorpionic energies into play. Mercury, Saturn and Rahu are closely associated with the eclipse and it may be worthy to sift through their implications as well.

Scorpio is a sign that is very connected to nature and the overall health of the environment. Scorpio is also a sign of hidden energy, secret agendas, machinations and movements. On the world level, we know there are serious, highly complex and sensitive problems. Saturn represents the laws and rules we must abide by and often dishes out a medicine we may have trouble swallowing. We have the question of the pipelines and the fear of how they will impact our precious environment. For anyone tantalized and possibly seduced by the massive profits the whole industry will bring our way, the first spill will wipe that fantasy away. The point is there are great movements afoot, pro and con and everything in between. There’s no sense fear mongering, but it looks like the pipes are coming our way, like it or not.

Scorpio represents collective will power and it is only through the will of the people speaking as one voice that we will change the tides. If you care for your society, country and culture then know that the time has arrived to make a stand. Saturn’s involvement indicates a time of austerity and belt tightening, probably connected to the concerns in the US economy. From an Eastern Vedic astrological perspective, the eclipse takes place in Libra in the nakshatra (star group) of Swati. The eclipse sits in the middle of Libra and all the other star groups. Balance, harmony, the arts, music and all matters of education and negotiation are highlighted. Vayu, the god of wind, rules this nakshatra bringing the possibility of big storms. The wind moves things and we will be moved to take action and lean into the tasks that are here to be dealt with now. Our task is to find the balance and seek what is fair and just for all.

Aries The solar eclipse on November 3 activates your solar eighth house related to death, taxes, inheritances, joint monies and all kinds of hidden matters. Although these topics are incredibly boring to your average Aries, they must be met and dealt with in order for you to achieve peace of mind. Get yourself together and organized.

Taurus The art of the compromise must be applied in order to accommodate the dynamic energy that is on-board throughout the fall season. The solar eclipse on November 3 indicates a time of working out relationship concerns and health matters, finances too. The Taurus full moon on November 17 will bring it all to light.

Gemini You can mutli-task, carry on a couple of conversations at the same time and do a lot more than that if you really wanted to. Now a time has arrived in which you have to focus your energy and ability on organizing and streamlining your life. Clear the clutter and chase the blues away.

Cancer The solar eclipse on November 3 activates your solar fifth house, which rules over matters such as children and entertainment. Enterprise and business opportunities are fifth house topics as well. Relationships may need an overhaul and re-evaluation. Power trips and other forms of manipulation and deceit may have eroded a good friendship.

Leo You may be in a pensive mood as November begins to unfold. Home and family concerns keep you occupied. You may be restless and desiring some adventure. Travel opportunities may present themselves throughout the month. Possibly, people from afar come your way. A longing for something deeper and more meaningful tugs at your heartstrings.

Virgo There’s quite a bit of planetary activity energizing your solar third house related to siblings, short journeys, education and all matters of business and commerce. As well, fiery Mars transits through Virgo bringing energy, activity and confidence. It’s a good time to study and perfect your craft. Watch for mishaps and accidents. Slow down.

Libra Your solar career and money sectors are strongly activated throughout the month. It might be the right time for a job change or career move. Home and family considerations come up as well. A lucky break or just good timing pay off mid-month. Relationship energy is intense and changes could be in the wind.

Scorpio An important and fateful time has arrived. The solar eclipse on November 3 tells the tale. Saturn’s involvement with the eclipse heralds a time of changes, possible losses and sacrifices. Look at this time as an opportunity to truly square things away. Hard work, blood, sweat and tears, mixed with your dynamic will power may bring success.

Sagittarius It’s time to clear up past karmic indebtedness. The best way is through kindness and compassion. If you have done a lot of work on yourself spiritually in the past, you may be inclined to move further along the lines of attaining moksha, a term describing liberation and freedom.

Capricorn Venus and Pluto conjoin in your sign mid-month sparking some pretty intense energy regarding relationships. You might be irresistibly attracted to someone and compulsively driven by curiosity. You may be surprised by someone’s attention and affection. Wait things out for a while and see where you get to. A re-evaluation of everything is in store.

Aquarius The top of your solar chart is strongly activated by the November planets. A career change may be in the works. A boost or promotion could be the case. You may be acknowledged for your skills. If you have abused power in any way, this is a time you could fall from a high place.

Pisces The planets are casting lots of positive energy into your sign indicating a spiritual change. Travel, education, writing and publishing are feature topics throughout the month. Relationship considerations come up, as does the prospect of possibly bringing children into the world. In essence, you can get what you want now if you work at it.

October 2013

Let’s invoke the spirit of Libra. The seventh sign of the zodiac, Libra is a cardinal air sign, ruled by Venus. The cardinal signs carry great power and energy, as Aries initiates the spring season, Cancer the summer, Libra the fall and Capricorn the winter. The element of air, combined with this dynamic cardinal sign, produces some of the most talented, beautiful, creative and profound people on the planet. Venus/Libra would be depicted strongly in the lives of such luminaries as Mahatma Gandhi, John Lennon, Pierre Trudeau and former US President Jimmy Carter. Libra bestows great beauty, grace, charm and a powerful intellect. The new Moon on October 4 releases this dynamic Libra energy and we have an opportunity to use it, abuse it or lose it.

Libra is depicted by a blindfolded woman, holding a sword in one hand and scales in the other. The symbol represents impartial justice, fairness, harmony and balance. If the scales are not balanced, we have injustice, imbalance, war and chaos to deal with. Uranus is involved with this Libra new Moon and it is an indicator that we may be in for a few shocks and surprises as the month unfolds. At the time of this writing, (September 7), the world is deciding what to do with the grievous and very dangerous circumstances in Syria. We may very well be on the verge of war in the middle east. The world leaders would be wise to use the Venus/Libra energy to negotiate peace, as the alternative will be the use of that sword the Goddess wields in order to help protect the suffering souls that are enduring great pain, hardship and loss. We are the world, we are the people and now the stars are asking for our assistance in bringing world peace closer, rather than further from our grasp.

Another major feature regarding Libra is relationships – be they marital, personal or professional. With Uranus involved with the new Moon energy, we may find it is time to sort things out and shake things up. The inhabitants of the local islands call it “the island shuffle.” Then again, we can get it right and settle down with peace in our hearts. It’s all about love, kindness, consideration and caring for one another, close and far. The full Moon lunar eclipse on October 18 will help us come to terms with whatever is on board at that time. Retrograde Mercury, combined with Saturn throughout the month, does indeed speak of serious negotiations and circumstances developing throughout the land.

Aries You have an opportunity to break through the limitations and restrictions that have held you back for way too long. You are on a journey of self-discovery. Staying true to yourself is the main ingredient that will bring you the freedom you long for. The full Moon on October 18 will bring powerful revelations.

Taurus It is time to organize and arrange your life in the way you want it to be. The main theme throughout the month will be communications and negotiations. Wills and secret matters are dealt with. Keep your lines of communication open and be willing to make changes where necessary. An understanding arrives October 20.

Gemini Generally, things cool down as the fall season gets rolling. But that’s not the case for Gemini. Actually, things heat up in the romance and finance departments. You may be intensely fixated on working through the knots and concerns of the times. Relationships, travel and health are the main topics to consider this month.

Cancer The new Moon on October 4 brings a time in which home, family and career topics dominate the conversations. Your home and work environments may be changing – such as, you may work from home or have to leave home to work. It’s all good. Luck and timing are important factors now. Do your best.

Leo You may be in the mood to fight and set things right. Matters pertaining to home, family, vehicles and property come up now. Walk softly, but carry a big stick. Keep in mind that a soft reply avoids wrath and resistance. It’s a lively time and a great time to socialize and enjoy the days.

Virgo Mars journeys through Virgo, while Mercury moves through Mars-ruled Scorpio. It’s called mutual reception when two planets are in each other’s signs. It means that a very busy and demanding time is upon you and you have to keep it all together in somewhat stormy weather. Doing one thing at a time is best.

Libra Throw your hat into the ring or come up with a ring and you may break with a ring or a circle of people from the past. It is time to make important changes relationship and career-wise. The lunar eclipse on October 18 brings it all into the light. Excitement and challenge rule the days.

Scorpio Mercury and Saturn are in close proximity throughout most of October as they continue their journey through Scorpio. On the positive side of the coin, this is a great aspect for research, discovery and study of any kind. The downside is worry and controversy, as delays and other types of hurdles and obstructions manifest.

Sagittarius Mars traverses your solar ninth house indicating travel and activities related to publishing and education. Mid-October, Mars enters your solar career sector guaranteeing a busy and demanding fall season. There may be hidden negotiations in the works and possibly you will change jobs or career path. Inheritances and joint monies come into play.

Capricorn Your solar career sector is strongly activated, as is your house of relationships. Expect a few surprises or opportunities to manifest in which you are able to move up and ahead. You will possibly be honoured for some achievement. Watch for waste and guard against overindulgence of any particular kind. An important relationship may develop.

Aquarius Travel, work, relationships and health considerations are on the cosmic menu for your choice of the pickings. Publishing, education and writing are also featured. Nothing may come easy, though, as Mercury and Saturn move through your solar tenth house bringing concerns and hard work. Roll up your sleeves and get to work. What else to do?

Pisces The meaning and value of life intensify as Neptune’s transit through Pisces is destined to refine you and attune you to the cosmic forces. The highest form of manifestation for this planetary combination is within the concepts of universal compassion, service and love. Expect to lose the way and find it again, and again.
